All that said with the pros of leasing, buying is still a good option if that's how you want to go. Again similar to loaner for discount but less to worry about. |

I was int he same position two weeks ago. Went with the '13 CPO 335i instead of new 320 or newer Loaner 328.
We got a car with some really great options and CPO plus an extra year CPO and 25K miles as a monthly special. So we were happy with the deal. Loving the car so far. Feel free to shoot me any questions. |

Hertz cars are also rented for substitutes for personal use, doesn't make them more appealing to buy. I agree with you that not all loaners are abused, but I certainly test them to see what I'm driving and compare it with my personal car. Like I said, it also depends on the market. Here in SF, loaners take a beating. I much rather lease new or buy CPO which would have a straight forward history with better documentation via carfax. I don't think my logic is faulted, I'm basing it my experience. Take it anyway you want. |

Thank you all for your suggestions. Here is what I did -
Ended up leasing a new 2016 silver 328i for approx 535/month. ($535 as 1st month down payment, 10k miles/year for 36 months) - Yaaay! Sports seats, LED headlights, 18” wheels with better tires, driver assistance package, rear view camera, paddle shifters(I guess that is standard with the 2016 model) Feedback/suggestions for others considering a loaner - I test drove the 2015 loaner vehicle and it was "simply awesome". Did not feel like it was driven by 100s of people. It was in excellent condition. So I think, you really need to do your due diligence, drive it and inspect the condition properly. But I think loaners are a great option too, depends on the dealership/area and may be other factors. But this one was really nice, felt almost like a new car. I ended up leasing the new(2016) car because there was very less price difference between the new and a loaner and we wanted the pleasure of driving a brand new car (wife’s decision as well). I did not get a chance to look at the 2013 CPO vehicle. There is a nice price depreciation calculator which I found, may be useful for some of the folks - http://www.free-online-calculator-us...alculator.html |

I purchased a dealer service loaner that was 9 months old with 15k miles on it about 5 years ago. I've had no problems with it except the emissions system (335d). I dont treat loaners any different than my car, which is to say that I drive it hard but after it warms up. Obviously some people will beat on it, but most of the time its going to be cruising the highway.
Enjoy your new car!
