Precisely. And just think how much you'll save if you buy a couple of Apple watches instead of a new TAG strap and a spare one

My series 1 watch has been going strong for a few years now. I've swam, surfed and done all manner of water based activities and never had an issue with it not officially being water proof. At some point it'll conk out and then I'll get a later version but until that happens I can't see the point. I've never taken a call on the watch as I think you'd almost look as bad as the twats that put their phones on speaker and then hold the mic end up to their face.

That's the thing, it's nothing special but sentimental.

It's a Kirium F1 and the cost is more about the thieving sods that tag are - quoted £1000 for the bracelet and £400 for the clasp! The watch is worth half that at best.

I'm not overly fussed by watches as a rule, prefer convenience and the Apple Watch may provide that convenience as I hate always taking my phone out to check messages.

Yea they're about £500 on ebay for the watch and strap!

Looks like you're close to pulling the trigger on the Apple watch! I'm now thinking about buying new sofa's instead, about double the monthly cost, but will use them a lot more!

I had a apple watch series 0 and sold it for a Samsung watch, but I'm selling that as iOS support is rubbish so I picked up a series 2 for 200 quid at the weekend, I really liked it but I'm more of a gadget person that a watch person, but theres the bmw app on it, I can also control my Philips hue lights and I use all the fitness stuff too

With my rock and roll lifestyle I seem to use mine mainly for saying "Hey Siri, set a five minute timer".

I was thinking about one of these the other day as I strapped on my iPhone 6s, polar chest strap, polar watch and bluetooth earphones to go out for a run(!) A thing that does all of that in one would actually be quite useful, can you download music to it? I don't want to stream it as the network where I live is crap at the best of times. I also use tidal for me choons, can you put the tidal app on a watch?

Ah, that's a shame. Could've ticked the box in so many ways.

You definitely can download music to Apple watch, don’t know what MrChumley’s on about!

Oops, mea culpa. Course you can.

I thought it just streamed it from the phone but you can indeed sync directly to the watch.

You can? Could be a winner then. How much memory do these things have? Have a stack of Apple stuff at home but must confess I know nothing about the watches. I only need to put a couple of albums or playlists on it, can it be done?

Depends which model, the 1 & 2 only hold 2gb of music apparently, and on the 3 the LTE model has 16gb total, 8gb of which can be used for music, the gps only model has 8gb total so i assume 4gb for music.

At running and cycling club, full of techies, see those with Apple Watch put on garmins, mostly 225’s.

Apple good for general but if your comparing it to a chest hrm then it’s a long way off.

Note I only used a one for a week so all subjective of course.

It might fit the bill for what I'm after, more of a leisure runner than a competitive type and to be fair my current setup works just fine but it can be a ball ache sometimes. Need to have a fiddle and ask a 'genius'.

Balls, just realised EE only for the mobile bit and I'm on O2. Not a deal breaker but would have been useful for contingency, etc.

Wow that's impressive. Unless you're staring to ultra marathon (in which case the battery gives up long before) that should be plenty of room for many playlists.

Impressive bit of kit this new one.
