Heard back from the vendor. With the harness they provided, i need to install the ASD and connect it directly behind the head unit since they used the connectors for the headunit to build the harness. Screen shots they provided shows that the ASD still will be recognied under eSYS.,

So Hi-Fi Amp from trunk to dash- unplug from headunit, plug into their harness, which then branches into the ASD and the head unit.

Anyone who knows how to making wiring of ASD Retrofitting with Base Stereo Audio?

My car is F30 320i, made in 2013 early

I have tried ASD Retrofitting by myself refer to ISTA-D.

But it is not working. I mean...

Strange is that i can hear music. But the Artificial Sound is lose.

I can find out some error using ISTA-D.

ISTA-D said(I attached). and I referred to this image.

(AMP has been connected to Speaker's output instead of HIFI AMP.

Is ASD Module broken?

Indeed, I bought the ASD module, and connector and made a custom cable. Then I walked to the car and found out that I indeed had the wrong Amp. I have the S677 (TOP-Hifi) in my 06-2013 5 serie F11. WHaaaa

Did someone very changed their TopHifi (S677) for the HK (S688) and noticed a difference?

Read VO
Activate VO
Read VCM
Mark ASD ecu
Push the button "Code"

That's all and the ASD will be coded by your VO.

I have ASD on my 420D but I don't see ASD in coding

I don't have ASD sound on my speaker system (inside of car) as far as I know which is strange. I do have a HIFI system with amplifier in the trunk of my car.

The sound is only coming from the ASD M Performance exhaust line but I still assume it should be possible to code it but I don't know how to make it show up, we checked using Carly Pro module/app but the ASD module was missing

Can anyone tell me what I should do to make the ASD module show up in my particular case?

Let me know if you want me to show specific pictures or something to help me figure this out

Hi everyone!

I've read through different threads trying to find a guide to do this.

I currently have a 2016 F30 318d which sounds

To install an Actuator/Booster is really expensive, although it seems to be easy to install. Another alternative would be the official M Performance Active exhaust – however, I love my blacked out single-pipe exhaust and would not change it for the double pipe.

The best option seems to be retrofitting the ASD Amplifier/Control Unit – I've seen a few under 100€. I just want the sound to be in the cabin and enjoy it while driving some exciting roads, I don't care if it sounds like nothing outside.

Does anyone keep any pictures from their retrofit? What harnesses, cables and fuses do I need?

If anyone can easily explain the process, I'll do it, and document it to share it with the forum for dummies like myself!

The car has the Harman/Kardon system

I'm sorry to necro such an old thread, but I can't find any other decent references on adding ASD.

I have an F54 Clubman, and I have retrofitted the driving modes (option 4VA). However, this now prevents ISTA from doing a software update, as it is now looking for the ASD ECU.

I have the HK stereo, from reading this thread, I am guessing that I might need a new HK amp, although looking on RealOEM it doesn't say there is an ASD/4VA requirement.

I am confused as to whether I need to run wires to all speakers, or just place it inbetween the current wiring connector and the amp socket.

Overall, I can get the ASD ECU reasonably cheaply, I am not to concerned about the sound, so would connecting the power and CANBUS (in my case I believe it's on KCAN4) be sufficient (assuming to get the soud I would need to run new wiring to all speakers).

I know I can just code out 4VA, get the update, and then code it back in, but I don't really want to go down that route.

I've had a further look at the technical documentation for my vehicle.

I have option P674 - HiFi loudspeaker system Harman Kardon.

HK AMPT with asd support.
ESYS coded HK and ASD without problems editing FA to f31 340i
Unfortunately i have no sound from ASD.
HK work perfectly
Any hint?

no errors on ista at all, the only thing i found is about RAD_ON

According to diagrams, ASD ha two RAD ON,
One from HK, on pin 7, and one from HU on pin 13.
I checked both

The one on HK is present,
the one from hu is not present and pin 13 is not populated.
My car is a f31 07/12
i wired a cable from pin 13 a42*1b (hu) to pin 10 A233 (ASD)
Nothing changes.
