F30 M sport bumper install

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to post the before and after shots of the f30 m-sport bumper I installed recently. It has been a long process and I am glad to finally have it done. Honestly the end result was well worth it! In my opinion the car looks great especially in person. I was never a fan of the fog lights-personal preference (although I would assume some of you will disagree) - and opted for the fog light delete.

In addition all the parts I installed are 100% OEM.

To start the process I had to purchase the bumper. I was able to find a pre painted bumper on ebay for a competitive price.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/281924884955...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I called the company and asked the seller for all the details about the bumper prior to purchase, I was lucky enough that they had a bumper in my car color in incredible condition and made the purchase.

According to the seller, alot of buyers just purchase the bumper cover and install it alone without any of the extra parts. I wanted to make this as close to OEM as possible so I decided I would purchase all the extra air ducts and pieces for the retrofit. To do this I contacted getbmwparts.com and they were able to give me a list of all the parts needed. I highly recommend you talk to Evan Winstead, if you want to do something similar to this, he was extremely helpful during this install process!

Lastly I found a reputable installer to attach the bumper and all the parts with accuracy. If anyone lives in or near Georgia I highly recommend Kelly Williams of Mod Squad Motorsports: http://www.modsquadmotorsports.com/
He is a bimmertech associated installer who is highly skilled with working on BMW's. Not only did he give me a great quote, but he also did a perfect job installing the bumper.

Lastly for the coding I contacted Bimmertech who will code the fog light error out for the fog light delete. I purchased many things from them in the past including a NBT retrofit (installed by Kelly as well) and a PP82DSP amp- always great customer service and incredible products.

I attached photos of the car before the retrofit

And here are the pictures during the install process and after the car was completed

Pretty happy with the end result! Let me know what you guys think. If you have any questions let me know as well and I will do my best to answer them. I have a few more upgrades in store so I will be posting more in the future!

Regarding the ebay seller, he is really up front about the bumpers he has in stock. He will tell you the condition of the bumper and will send pictures to you prior to purchase. If you luck out and get a bumper in great condition in the correct color you will save money on painting.

Also the fog light delete is not necessary, I personally like the look of the car without the fog lights and requested that my installer remove them during the install process. If you prefer your car with the fog lights it won't be a problem to keep them- just make sure you get the proper grill inserts for the bumper.

What was your total cost for the additional parts (besides the bumper)?

Justin is was a pleasure working with you on the install and thank you for the kind words! One of the best parts about working with BMW enthusiast's is that they end up becoming friends in the process. It was a pleasure justin, if you need anything else please let me know!

You got a pre-painted bumper, how is the paint match?

Regarding paint match, it was actually near perfect. That honestly was a big concern of mine prior to purchasing the bumper, however it looked great post install. The body color and bumper color was basically indistinguishable. If you are not happy with the color or want to paint over any minor scratches or imperfections you could still get it repainted and it won't cost you anymore than painting a unpainted bumper.

The only parts that I believe were re-used from the bumper install were the support left and support right pieces
