Escort 9500ix now for 2 years and haven't been pulled over once since I bought it. the false signal identifier is a really nice feature as well.

Does anyone here use this one? www.amazon.com/Escort-Passport-8500X50-Detector-Display/dp/B005IQGNCU/ref=dp_ob_title_ce

Seems great since it comes with an iphone app that saves radar locations and shares the data between allother users of the app

You, on the other hand, need only have one of those many things be called into doubt and/or go wrong. At the very least, you should be able to get the points eliminated and keep your driving record clean.

Good luck.
If you are busted for speeding, just pay the damn ticket

Oh god yes! Not that I'm proud or bragging because in a sense it's stupid but I speed a lot. Usually follow the traffic flow which here on Chicago/Indiana roads gets insane.

Why not get an integrated one? Valentine and escort have a sweet setup where the indicator goes inside your rear view mirror. Totally undetectable. And escort comes with pop feature so that will help against radar devices.

Personally, I'm using the 9500ix and it has saved me a handful of times. Still need to hardwire a power source though, I've been dealing with the dangling power cord so far.
I never used the v1 before but heard great things. I use to run the escort 8500ix and when it needed service I traded up to a 9500ix and never looked back. I love the memory feature, however the detector sometimes doesn't go off for days lol it makes me nervous if its working but I know it is.

As for your hardwire solution here it is my man

I'm going to fight it in court; I don't want the insurance cost that accompanies the ticket. If I lose, I'll look you up so you can pay the ticket, unless, of course, you take umbrage over my so freely mandating how your resources are spent.

I couldn't find any reference on Valentine's or Escort's sites. Would you mind please providing some documentation, weblink, etc. identifying this mode of installation?

I saw it a while back and I googled it. There are a few companies that take your mirror as a core and send you one with the set up already installed. But there are alot of DIY guides out there Im sure if one is comfortable doing it its not that hard.

Hey, if i am going to do the crime, i will pay the dime. Fighting a ticket in court that was issued to you because you were caught speeding is really a waste of a lot of public resources that could be better spent dealing with other more appropriate issues. But then you probably don't care because you don't want to deal with the inconveniences to you as a direct result of your own action.

This has to be a joke, right? I mean, why would anyone buy cars these days, some of which are capable of 200 mph, and not want to "speed" every once in a while. There's a reason Sammy Hagar penned "I can't drive 55", and Maverick decried "I feel the need for speed". C'mon man. Live a little, will ya?!

As opposed to just paying the ticket....go to the hearing. Often they will reduce the points (via a plea bargain to a lesser charge) vs moving the issue to a trial (more expensive for them)..
