Service History - iDrive
Ok so I’m slightly confused/worried...
Today a friend pointed out that I don’t appear to have any service history option in my iDrive. Immediate thoughts were: 1. Has it ever been serviced? 2. If it has been, why don’t I have the data? I bought the car 2nd hand from Cooper BMW IN Durham when it was 11 months old and had covered 11k miles, it’s now 2 and a bit years old and has covered 28k miles. I’m hoping someone can shed some light? |

The first service is normally due somewhere between 15000 and 22000 miles depending on usage. Or if time based at 24 months. If you had bought it at 11months/11k then it won't have had one previously.
Unless you have had it serviced at a main dealer then the most likely reason there is no service history is that it hasn't been serviced. |

Bear in mind that if it was serviced and then, after the car was out of the workshop, the online service record was updated, then the in-car record will only be updated to reflect this when the car is next 'plugged-in' at a dealer

I have just had my first service when it was 2 years old at 19,800 miles. It was showing that it needed servicing at either 2 years or 20,500 miles, whichever came sooner. |

There is a list of service items in the vehicle info, giving mileages and/or dates due. If you had the car at 2-years old, it should have timed out, if there hadn't already been a oil service. |

I've had my F30 from new and have had 2 regular services, 2 extra oil changes and one brake fluid change. It doesn't have a service history entry either, I asked the garage last time I was there, but got fobbed off.

I had my first service in August, service history was updated in idrive as it should be. With what they charge for servicing, the least they could do is do the job properly. I would insist they update idrive as they are supposed to

And remember, the CBS countdown starts from vehicle build not registration. My car was registered 30/9/17 but was built Feb 2017 so will need a service in 15k or 14 months time as it was a stock car for months.

Although my previous Beemers 'service due' date was exactly 2 years on from its date of registration.
