Damn 340i with 360 hp?? I will be buying AUDI next time. Too much change, kills resale value of older models.

you mean like how the new Audi S4 has LESS hp than the last model to boost up resale value on their old model?

"The 335i makes a comeback, although it loses a turbo and power drops to around 280bhp to make room for a completely new car, the 340i. This one will have a pair of blowers, which help to muster 360bhp."

The name brand of the 335i is being demoted to the equivalent of owning a 328i. Don't be ignorant. Regardless if the e90 335i can out perform the f30 335i the fact is that the 335i is now second in the line up of non Ms and this will effect prior 335i 's brand power.

This entices current 335i owners to get into the 340i. It is a marketing ploy.

BMW is constantly changing the numbers on the back of the car. There is NO reason for the top non M to be renamed to 340i other then to screw around with the pecking order.

To add i will not fall for their attempt to play with the #s to get me into the 340i. It's just the cheap attempt by BMW that insults me.

Audi on the other hand did NOT demote the the S4 in their line up.

Come on man your from NY you disappoint me.

EDIT to add the classy sarcastic .

Your post should have read; "Audi upgraded their S4 over their last model, why do you disagree with the way BMW handled the new model? What's the difference?"

Changing the numbers is stupid. In my opinion they shoud call them 328i, 330ti, and 330tti.

Anyway it is irrelevant if you get the car debadged. However there are always people who want to advertise how much $$ they spent.

You guys need to relax the car is still more than a year out. BMW has not finalized the engines much less the naming conventions.

335i has ALOT of brand equity I don't think it will be demoted. But to medeiro, I hope you are not buying a car for its investment value. Change is good, keeps technology advancing. Its like telling Intel to stop making faster/better CPUs...not gonna happen...

I got an e90 325i and its been amazing to me. I am skipping the 335i due to all the HPFP issues and going straight for the F32 M3. I will have had the car for 7-8 years by then. I also don't like buying two cars within the same generation feels like a waste of money.
