You need to post something :-)
Thing I doubt about this article is 4 bangers only. I can see 4s being offered in the lineup but they will also offer 6s IMO. 4 turbo maybe puts out 250HP and 6 turbo 350 HP. The next gen 1 would offer a non-turbo 4 and turbo 4. Same goes for the new Z2 roadster. Also diesel 4s in the mix for 1s and 3s. Nice pics though Inside Line. http://www.insideline.com/bmw/3-seri...arly-look.html Last edited by ede92; 03-23-2010 at 07:39 PM.. |

It says the 3 series is going to a turbo charged 4 cylinder:
"2013 3 Series' models are expected to be powered by smaller turbocharged four-cylinder engines in place of the current six-cylinder power plants, which will first debut in the 2011 BMW 1 Series. The exception will be the future BMW M3, which will trade in its V8 for a twin-turbocharged six and electric hybrid drive." I see you didn't post the hideous side picture. I like the idea of 4 bangers though. Should keep weight down a good bit. I think cars have gotten fast enough for most average drivers....

that picture of the front is insane. Needs alot of polishing off but I think that's a great step if you're going for that more aggressive styling that companies are throwing out there.

Back looks like an RX8 in the exhaust area.

I just don't like the idea of driving a 4 cyclinder car that costs 50 K
Something about feel and personal status too...4 cyl is for economy. I personally like V8 power, hence the 335 |

The headlight lenses look too small, almost looks like they impead the lighting area. I also don't understand what clearly looks like a reduction window size maybe resulting in more blind spots.

Tough to say with the engine choices for the US as we get a tiny fractions of the engines offered in the world, look at the BMW UK website, theres about 30 different models of 3-series you can start with. Based on past history the US market does get the more powerful engines, and the rest of the world gets a choice of the top and lower engines. I don't like the front, a little too outlandish for me.

"I just don't like the idea of driving a 4 cyclinder car that costs 50 K

Looks like they're taking some pointers from Nissan...anyone who's driven a Rogue or Murano know what I'm talking about...IMHO it is by far the most difficult vehicle to see in with it's miniscule rear/side windows. |
