hmmmm.. I read.. " This is a global press release "

Since there is a 320 here.... yes... I could see BMW NA being ummm.. 420 friendly..

On an unrelated note, I still absolutely love the styling of the 4 GC. Really wish they had an M version (I know it will probably never happen).
The above specs are for 0-62 times so expect 0-60 to be slightly faster.

The current 0-60 435i specs are 5.3 for the manual and 5.0 for the automatic.

The press release image for the 2017 4 series is no different than that of the 2016, thereby confirming what we already speculated - the LCI for the 4 series will come as MY2018 in 2017.

I didn't bother to look up the data, but be sure that the numbers you are comparing, are both RWD vs. xDrive and AT vs MT. These factors can add up to a few milliseconds.

Clearly the 4 series GC is selling well as it now has 3 models 420, 430 and 440
Yeah, as far as the "sexiest" is concerned...6GC

So, when you guys speculate that the 2017 440i will not be an LCI, are you saying that this car will not be fitted with any of the so-called improvements to the suspension and steering, etc., which are already in the 340i?

I wonder if they're still gonna do LCI in MY17, it makes more sense to do it in MY17.

So the 420 still has the N20 with the same 184hp or is it a limited version of the B48 instead of the 192hp?

Both options doesn't really make any sense...

This is what you want then

Same question here. Not sure why they'd put a new engine in, but not the rest of the LCI the 3 already has...?

Yes; quite jealous. What I really want is a 340i Wagon with a stick, but even Europe doesn't get that.

Rumor is that a 2GC is on the way, and I bet they offer that with a 6MT. I'll probably have given up and gotten a Golf R by then, though.

Sorry, subjectivity at its finest at play here but, while BMW did a really nice job with the 4GC, the 4 coupe trumps it aesthetically. With exception of the Z4, I think it's the sportiest series car in the current lineup. The M235, while a better driver's car, doesn't hold a candle to the 4 coupe (M sport guise) in terms of looks. That said, the specs and price of the M2 supersedes it's somewhat awkward exterior and has reeled me in as #1 on my cross-shop list.
Its not just about aesthetics. Some people just need/want 4 doors

I coded mine to use the ASD of the M3, it sounds awesome with the manual. Cheap mod until I can convert my exhaust to 435MPE.

I'd be interested to see the 2GC, not convinced it would look as good shrunk down.

Correct. Specifically, the 430i will not arrive in the US until July. We know this because the 428i does not go out of production for the US until June:

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1082153

Although we don't have the US production information for MY2017 yet, once we do, it should show that the 230i, M240i, 330i, 430i all start production for MY2017. This will happen the month after their respective 28i and 35i models go out of production as listed on the above MY2016 schedule.

True. Of course an MY2017 LCI for the 4 Series was not a good bet to begin with given the timing is wrong (4 Series not even three years old yet). Plus, with MY2017 for the 440i known to have been coming a few months before MY2017 for the 430i since early last year (since the publication of the document referenced in the above linked thread), the proper conditions for an LCI, for which they will want to introduce on all trim levels simultaneously, were never present here. Not to mention, no test mules spotted yet.

They didn't want to wait on the new engines. The 4 Series LCI won't come for over a year from now, but they wanted the 430i and 440 on the market much sooner than that.

Yawn.......
I'll keep my E90 335.
Better front seating. That stupid map pocket on the new cars sticks out to far.
Footwell is narrow and feels like standing in a bucket.
Not to mention the performance is no better than my 2008.
Yawn.....

Article is misleading. These are not all new engines for 4er but same engines as we're just introduced in 3er
