There's no denying the power difference between the 2; but other than straight line, the 320i is no slouch lol.

Congrats btw OP, I drove a 320i with sport package and the fun factor is what makes the car great.

Don't forget the 328 fanboys who think the 335 is not significant difference, and the 335 fanboys who think the M3 is not a significant difference, and the M3 fanboys who......

Anyways I am not going to argue furthermore. I am very happy for the OP cause it is a good feeling to get a new car. The sport package really makes it and I think the red looks great. If you feel the need for power, there are mods out there that will help you get real world gains, just keep in mind BMW can be finicky when it comes to warranty issues (I bought a stage 1 for my car and I am very excited to get it ).
No doubt there is a significant power difference. If you can tune a 320 you can tune a 328 just as easy so along those lines, a 320 will never touch it. But many people don't tune their cars for whatever reason and many settle for whatever stock power is. NTM, many 'fanboys' of the 328 and 335 talk like the 320 is a total slouch, which it is not. You get what you pay for. If you want to spend about six or seven grand more for a sportline 328 with more power and a few more features, you'll get a better car than a 320. I think most of the comments mentioned were referencing the assumption that it was a 320 sport vs. a 328 no line, in which case, many suggested the 320 since you can tune it and have superior suspension and interior over the no-line 328. The 328i sportline and M sport are clearly better cars.

The 320 and 328 with tuning have pretty much the same potential power vise?
Can't say that about 328vs335 now can we?

I wouldn't say so. I'm pretty sure you can get more power out of the 328i because of the lower compression pistons.

I think so.. I've only got the 320 dynos pulled up but it looks like max on a 320 is 266 @ the wheels, which translates to around 300 or more at the crank - rated like a 335. Anyone have the 328 BMS dyno page handy? I know for Stage 1, both the 320 and 328 do about 30 more HP/TQ at the wheels.

True, it's a 2.5mph difference, but 0.2 seconds is something you won't notice when driving

I bet you wouldn't say that if you were in Athens, Georgia.

It's all good, Leo...I think if you convert from Euro-seconds, this will all be resolved.

lol, BMW's claims are as accurate as a toddler's claims, i don't think a 2.5mph difference leads to a difference of 0.2 seconds in time (unless there is a gear change right after 60mph). The car is anyway faster than what BMW claims

The 320i for some reason has better steering feel. I think BMW finally addressed the issue once the 320i ran into production.

IMHO the sport seats are extremely uncomfortable. I constantly have leg and ankle pain in the sport seats because the butt bolsters are hinged so high that your driver leg is sort of floating most of the time.

If you get the 328 or 320 both are great cars. For a 1k diff I would take the 328i without sport package. Much faster.

I hated the seats at first and now I love them. Guess I had to get used to them. Live the side bolstering. The no line 328 seats are pretty crappy. Very little side bolstering

I can't believe the 320 with Sports Pack gets the M-Sport steering wheel! I will be getting a 428 Sport soon and MSRP how I want it will be $52k and I won't be getting it!

Anybody like to swap???

You are doing something wrong with your seat adjustment. Lower the seat or change the seat bottom angle if possible. I do not have this problem in my 328i Sport Line.

BMW really should offer a 420 Coupe with the Sport pack as on 320, I think this would be a big seller if they keep the price similar relative to 320/328.

Right I'm butthurt about a slower car that is no different when it comes to handling.

Have fun driving your 320 (I sincerely mean that). I'm good with my 328I Stage 1 .

It's always amusing in a world with 65mph speed limits with 75% of the time being spent crawling in traffic that people get in pissing contests on the internet about being a second faster than someone else.

And I have a stage 2 320i, putting down more power than yours and I can actually run e85.....

And since you want to have a dick measuring contest, my track car over your slow piece of shit 328i anyday....

Oo and a sport 320 and a 328 no line do not handle the same.... At all..... That's a fact.

But yes I will have fun in my "slower" car. Laughable.
