Vapor barriers letting water into cabin help.

Hi guys, well... Some work was performed in the door of my 335 8/12 production that involved removing the vapor barrier. Afterwards we had lots of rain and water made it to the floor carpet. Water was dripping from between the door metal part and the door card, this is the same it happened before in my e39 and e30. Turned out it was the vapor barriers where loose. Has this happened to anyone here before? Os this common on f30s? Was looking on realoem and couldnt find the part numbers as if they
Were not listed.. Can someone help me? Im going back to the garage tomorrow so they can remove the doorcard and take a second look, in the easy case ill just buy new butyl tape and reseal but in case i need a new barrier, i will need the part number.
Any help is greatly appreciated, this issue is real frustrating! Its like water haunts me in all my cars...

I believe you'll find the vapor barrier also referred to as sound insulation:
Sound insulation, door, front left - 51487286655
Sound insulation, door, front right - 51487286656
SOUND INSULATING DOOR REAR LEFT - 51487286651
SOUND INSULATING DOOR REAR RIGHT - 51487286652

Unless they mangled/tore the original insulation, the typical cause for the water leak is the lack of adhesion of the insulation to the metal portion of the door - this is the case with the E39 & E46. Some new butyl caulk should solve your problem. I used a heat gun to warm it up a bit in hopes that the insulation would stick better, and haven't had an issue with my E39 or two E46s.

I had that happen as well. There was warranty work done on a door before I bought the car and it started to leak at the bottom. The vapor barrier was just hanging loose. Luckily, my car is under warranty and after going back and forth between the dealer that did the work and my local dealer I was able to get it resolved.

Thank you guys! Indeed, went to garage and they checked in it. It was definitely the vapor barrier bottom... Had loose areas. They are gonna remove the old glue and put new windoweld all around to seal it properly. The barrier itself is still new without any rips.
