M Performance exhaust and catless DP sound?
Hi guys does anyone know how an M Performance exhaust will sound with catless downpipe on the N55 engine? Thinking of doing it and would like some opinions.
Thanks

I will know in a few hours what it sounds like. Both are being installed as we speak.

Car sounds insane and very agressive with M performance exhaust and ER catless and it will only get better as the exhaust breaks in. Turbo spools much faster and you can definitely hear it more. I will post a clip over the weekend of a cold startup and drive by.

Downpipe is a breeze on the N55 compared to N54. Takes an hour to take off the old one and put on the new one. Maybe 1.5 hrs for a mechanic doing it the first time. All depending on the hourly rate they charge you. Less than $100 for sure

The sound difference is quite noticeable. It amplifies the sound properties and "note" of the M exhaust since there is no restriction from the catalytic converter built into the stock downpipe. Also, the turbo will spool faster. Lastly there are some nominal performance gains, not sure but I imagine maybe 20 or so HP.
