The F30 335i has an incredible exhaust note stock. The M Performance exhaust is also excellent. I thought I was going to miss all of those burbles, crackles, and pops but this has filled the void nicely:

The c63 has one of the best exhaust notes out there!!!

I've driven an MCT one extensively and the up shift farts are massively intoxicating and addictive to say the least!

why don't you go for a downpipe first? I'm the type of person that likes a nice subtle, but louder exhaust note. I think first handedly the downpipe can achieve that. I'll post up some videos when I get my downpipe installed.
Thx for the advice....but I don't want to go for a downpipe because I don't want any codes/CELs thrown, I don't want even a hint of trouble with my BMW warranty, I have to be able to pass strict exhaust emissions tests in Ohio, and I don't want any exhaust smell.

The Borla, on the other hand, won't cause and CEL issues, and will allow me to pass emissions tests. Does that make sense?

As far as I know, I think it's only on 8AT, but I could be wrong.

I think its only on the 8AT thanks to the super fast shift speed.

The bang pop on my F30 is SO LOUD, it scares people!

On stock it used to sound like a loud fart, now with my Meistershaft exhaust + JB tune, it sounds like a LOUD Metallic POP. Very different sound I wish I could somehow record it. Very rewarding!

Terrible Drone. Terrible Terrible Terrible! Don't listen to what anyone says. Especiially at cruising speed. Right at 2.1k rpm it just vibrates your brains out lol

From my understanding, alot of these after market exhausts drone bc they dont have a resonator (so the sound can be louder). So its not just this exhaust, but many of them drone. Solution is to add a resonator, but will make the exhaust quieter.

I'm used to the drone now, doesn't bother me at all... but I must say when I first got it, i couldn't take it and wanted to take the exhaust off putt stock back in haha.. Now i love my exhaust, can't live without it, props to Meisterschaft!. Its just such an angry deep growling sound, topped up by the bang pop

Every since I got it Ive been driving like crazy in sport+ 80% of the time.

I heard with catless itll be even louder/throatier. I don't have a downpipe.

However I must say the JB stage 1 make a noticable difference in the sound of the exhaust. Without it, the pop is much quieter and way less burbly good stuff

Okay. This thread is having me reconsidering AT for my next car. In addition of the bangs when the car shifts, does it also blips when downshifting? Does it kick you behind the neck under hard acceleration ?

My perception for AT and all its smoothness is something i try to stay away. That lag feeling between shifts somehow disconnects me from the car vs 6MT where you create your shiftpoints, play heel and toe when downshifting, etc.
Any additional feedbacks are welcome. Do this also apply to the 328 ?

Thanks

Not 100% sure on the 328, though I'm sure it's all the same:

(1) Downshift does provide engine rev-matching

(2) Kick you behind the neck? Yes, but the degree depends on other cars you've experienced with more/less power

(3) the ZF8 is honestly quite good at responding to upshift/downshift inputs. Multiple taps of the downshift paddles = skipping to the correct gear the first time. This is my first ever daily driver with an auto gearbox, coming from more than 10 3 pedal cars, and the ZF8 does not disappoint.

All that being said the best way is for you to test drive an AT 328 so you can decide for yourself if it's for you.

My 335i really slams into gear at WOT, especially when I shift manually before redline. You can feel it far more than other auto transmissions. Easily the best auto trans I have experienced. Couple it with the sport transmission option where you get the paddels and I think you'll be impressed. On the flip side, it is super smooth when you are just casually driving around town. My previous daily driver was a tuned 5 speed Subaru Legacy GT and I don't miss rowing my own gears one bit. Thought I would but the ZF 8 spd made it an easy transition.

I did have some seat time in a previous gen M5 with DCT and the shifts in the ZF unit are no where near as crisp and almost violent as they were in the M5. In the M5 it felt like someone was hitting the back of my seat with a bat everytime I shifted under load.

I guess it's time to schedule a road test with my dealer.
So the "sport" transmission option is for the paddles ? Same guear ratios and software?

To my point of view, i think paddles are a must .
Thanks for these inputs

More vid! Filmed with my GoPro. I've just got the Challenge Catted DP; along with the M-PPK upgrade. Everything else 100% stock (besides tires/rims).

I also eyeballed 0-110mph (speed at top of 4th per HUD) in about 12 seconds. Not official or anything, but sounds pretty solid to me!

Closed course.... etc.
