Can you display Speed in instrument cluster?
First post here after picking up my 328i
I don't see a way to display digital speed in the instrument cluster. Only shows when I enable cruise. Is there a way to display this so I don't have to rely on the analog speedometer?

should have got the HUD man! its really handy.
but in this case you probably wanna get your car coded, so it will have the speed showing in the instrument cluster |

I actually would have totally got the HUD if I knew that digital speed can't be displayed otherwise. The HUD cost would have been negated by savings in speeding tickets because I'm not used to looking at the analog speedometer

I don't know of anyone who has successfully done this coding yet.

I think the digital speed would show up where the BC values are (range, average speed, etc). That's even lower on the dash than the analog speedo. If you are willing to experiment with your car, I have the coding equipment. PM me if you are interested. |

I know this isn't what the OP asked, but I really don't get it. Reading a needle on a dial is much, much faster and more accurate than reading two or three digits in a display. Movement and rate of change are also more obvious and easier to take in.

Perhaps so, but a digital readout would be very helpful for those of us who have the steering and seating set up for optimal ergonomics and as a result can't read the analog speedo because the steering wheel blocks the view.

i'll have to disagree, here u get instant speed and i stopped looking at the needle after having the digital speedo. try it, it doesnt void any warranties and you can switch it to mpg or other screen if u dont like it
