One nice thing with BMW is that you can wait until the factory warranty is about to expire and then extend it. So if you don't go CPO, you always have that option if you need it. Good luck - I had a lot of fun looking for mine! |

I am in the market to buy 2013 335i Sedan. I have access to Auction sites and have been watching the cars coming in for Auction and at what price they are selling. Here is my observation
Loaded (M-sports, tech, premium, drive assist) car with around 25-30K mile is going for around 30-31K and then you add about $1000 as all Auction related fees. Some of the higher mileage cars (like 45K miles) are selling for 27-28K range. |

If they have a buyer ready to go, you would think they might inquire...but the car has been in the lot only a week. I have time as well and come a few weeks the car is a 3 year old car. |

Just my $.02, but I bet they'll go lower than $34K (remember, it's not a CPO). Last February I paid $37K for my '12 CPO Sport Line 335i (I assume that that's what you're looking at), also loaded and had just cracked 25K miles (also was in truly immaculate condition). IMO, it's definitely priced too high at $36K given that it's not a CPO.
Good luck! |

BMW has created a lucrative system where their cars depreciate very quickly via private party or at auctions, but dealers are able to resell lease turn-ins as CPO for at least the lease residual value. It basically forces customers to either lease or buy+drive their cars for a long time (read: $ in parts for BMW).
Compare that to say Toyota, which has certain models that practically don't depreciate in the private market (Tacoma=slowest depreciating mass-market vehicle for the past decade+). Great for Toyota owners, not so great for Toyota or their dealers. |

Man, I wish I saw these cheap prices you guys are all quoting when I was shopping a couple months ago. ~3 months ago I bought my '13 M-Sport with 7.6k miles from Beepi for $38.9k delivered. Tech, comfort, and MPPK on it.
Right now, there is a non-cpo EB 335i X-drive with 19k miles and just about every package, sitting on a lot for $42.9k. Also, a CPO AW 335i Luxury X-drive with 33k miles for $35.9k. Up here in the Pacific NW, we pay through the nose unfortunately!

Just say the dealer sells the CPO car at $5k to $6k above auction price. That needs to cover the auction fee($1k), CPO kit($2k), and probably another $500 to $1k to recondition. So the dealer's profit is $2k to $3k. By the way, the AVP bonus of a new car sale of $60k is also $3k, so basically BMWFS facilitates the dealers to double the profits by selling CPO-ed cars twice(first time as brand new, the second time as CPOs). The truly impression part is BMWFS and the banks are willing to take a 10+% RV haircut at auction. But of course BMWFS also makes money from CPOs(e.g. $2k), and the extra interest charged on lease(e.g. 2% spread on the leases, for another $3k on a $60k car), so BMWFS is not really paying through the nose themselves. Remember that as of MY2015 BMW Maintenance Program is now specific to the original owner, and no longer follows the car. So better go out and grab those used MY13/14s under warranty.

So do you think an msport, premium, tech, nav, cameras,hk and heated seat car with 25k miles and a year and a half warranty (non cpo) should be less than 34k?

I find it really interesting that you guys are saying 335 auction prices are so low because the CPOs on the East coast sure wouldn't reflect that. I was dealing with 3 different dealers, 2 large, one small, same story at all 3.
I was searching for about 4 months for a CPO '13 335 Msport ($54-56k msrp) all over the East coast, focused on the South, and everything I saw was $33-39k with a heavy concentration at $37k. I wanted to be on the lower end without going over 40k miles, so I ended up going with a '13 328i deal that I couldn't pass up, and I have a JB4 on the way to get me close as far as speed. Seeing $8-10k gaps between 328i and 335i's was a little mind twisting! yoandry, you got exactly what I was looking for, but I'm pretty happy with my 328i for $28k. Coming from a WRX it's quite different, but still a very fun car. |

Ok..what was the sticker price if you don't mind sharing? The car I looked at is at $35981. Based on what you got I should be able to get this one for 33k or less. But that is a long ways to go from their sticker price.

Good enough man. I waited for the 335i because I had an e90 330i before.
