M Performance Spoiler

I'm thinking of getting the M Performance spoiler for my F30; not the Carbon one, just the one that comes matt black (it will be painted body colour [Mineral Grey]).

What I was wondering is: does anyone have this spoiler on their F30, and if so, does the boot (trunk) open automatically the same (e.g. with Comfort Access, or by holding the button on the key fob), with the added weight of the spoiler?

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply; anyone else who's of a more helpful disposition?

My only question is about the weight of the spoiler and if it affects the automatic opening of the boot, which I haven't been able to quickly find in other threads. Thanks

It won't impact opening or CA.

I'm actually haggling with my dealer on getting the CF one installed on my MG 335i.

BMW quotes 0.6 hours to install, and they'd like 1.4 hours... No thanks, already spending $400 on the part!

No..

Why would BMW produce something that would be so heavy it would make the comfort access use of your trunk worthless?

Secondly, its a plastic spoiler...its not going to weight THAT much.

Thanks Rick and Shiva, that's good news. BMWforLife: you'd be surprised. The lip and CF spoilers - both weighing less than this one - I've had on my 335d and 135i did make the boot open differently: it didn't open as much as before the spoiler was installed, for instance, so it did affect it in some way, and compromised the full opening or the boot. Hence, before committing to having something stuck to my car, I just wanted to be sure, that's all, as I love the CA feature and I wouldn't have wanted it to be compromised. I didn't ask if it would be 'so heavy' or ask if it would make CA 'worthless'; I asked if it would affect it at all, e.g. if the boot wouldn't open *as much*, that's all.

I have the painted non-carbon one and the trunk does not swing fully open anymore.

So I thought the CF is lighter than the composite, no?

I have the painted plastic version and will say that 99.999% of the time my trunk opens fine. It was hesitant 1 time since install and seems to go up a little slower than normal.
