Don't start roasting me yet, I know that eBay parts aren't the best but how bad can it be. A chargepipe is a pretty straightforward part and I don't see how it can be that bad. It's still a solid metal which is way better than the plastic oem chargepipe. This one is 120 versus 220 for a vrsf one.

Agreed. Only potential issue is fitment. Not much else going on "high end technology wise."

Wonder if anyone has tried this or similar. I believe the lowest priced Brand Name unit is VRSF at $200. Can anyone confirm pricing on name brand aftermarket charge pipes?

If a Chargepipe is “a pretty straight forward part””how bad can it be”, ask BMW that question as it’s their Chargepipe that is failing in first place.

Ebay charge dont usually fit right which cause a leak (best case scenario) or they completely fail.

You have an expensive car thats fairly new, i would stick to quality parts

LITERALLY THIS

Still haven't chosen one myself as I trust very few of these sellers on eBay anymore

What kind of material is used for the B58 pipe?

It's made of plastic, but the intercooler is mounted to the engine and moves with it so there's no stress to the chargepipe causing it to break. That's what someone posted on this forum with engine diagrams showing the design changes, you'll have to search for it on the forum. I haven't heard of anyone with a B58 experiencing broken charge pipe.

B58 Chargepipe is also plastic It seems BMW doesn't care about the failures. Guess the "Bean-counters" have determined it is cheaper to just replace those that fail under warranty instead of installing a reasonable quality component and let the aftermarket folks make a profit cleaning up their mess.

Will be interesting to see how it survives. The vendors are making replacements so there must be a reasonable market.

People may be choosing to replace it even though it hasn't failed because of the N55 issues. So far mine hasn't broken and I've made some high rpm runs a few times.
