The 3-D rendering is much more detailed in large cities, such as showing accurate, although slightly cartoonish, renditions of buildings. This is in the new NBT version of the NAV system, but has not been in the previous CIC versions of the NAV system.

While I am anxious to know if it is available for my version of the NAV system, I am also a little apprehensive that it will load and change slowly on our lower performing system.

I dont understand how its able to work on E90 and e90 lci but no F30? Maybe we should wait till 4.8E70 get a response.

I have a 2012 F30, looking to get the new CIC system, i’m in Canada… will it work on my car? also will the performance of the idrive be slow after the update?

Hi, the system is installed to a hard disk , so you get the same performance as you did before hand

you have a CIC system car, to install the map you need the code.

I will need your FULL VIN number to generate the code..

nah those guys were talking about the new idrive system with the new maps, getting the software to work on our current cars with the same hardware

the older hardware would die trying to render those 3D images. You might end up with something like 5 frames per second video rendering!!

Pretty sure the hard drive on the pre-NBT nav systems is not large enought to hold the higher resolution city 3D images. Not to mention the processing power to generate them at an adequate speed to use satifactorily.
