Anyone know what Z2N ("Perf Brakes red calipers") or Z2C options are?

I've heard about these two options that a CA apparently has the ability to add to an F30 order. Does anyone have more info about them?

I'm very curious what Z2C is for only $407 invoice as that's quite cheap for anything brake related. And I'm guessing Z2N is the big brake kit? or is it just red painted calipers?

Does anyone have any official info, not guesses or speculation?

Description Wholesale MSRP
Z2C BMW Performance Brakes 407.00 605.00
Z2N Perf Brakes red calipers 1,888.00 2,555.00

Where did you hear that these options are available? I would love to add the M Performance brakes at the factory and avoid the labor for a retrofit down the road.

I will ask him if I can add any of the M Performance parts at the factory, but I'm not holding my breath.

Seems logical based on the prices and descriptions that Z2C refers to the rear M Performance discs, and Z2N refers to the M Performance front and rear calipers and front discs. For some reason the M Performance brakes are broken up that way:

Makes sense!

$1,888 for the entire M brake system sounds like a good deal and if it could be added as a factory-installed option, I'd definitely do so. Even if it was dealer-installed, if that $1,888 could be rolled into the lease and not a full outlay of cash, it would be good.

I think it would actually be $2295 total, $1888 for Calipers and front rotors + $407 for the rear rotors...sold as a separate part numbers for some reason, and if dealer-installed, labor would run a couple hours I would guess.

I think this is speculation. We should stick to the facts before we get ahead of ourselves.

Speculation? I just re-stated the wholesale prices you listed in your original post: $1,888 + $407 = $2295 ...you got excited about $1,888 for a brake kit, but it's pretty obvious that Z2C refers to the required rear discs when comparing to these retail prices below, so I'm quite certain you should include the $407 as well.

I think the only thing in question here is whether or not you can get the M Performance Brakes factory installed--but I'm leaning towards no. I'll ask my CA if he can add it to my order tomorrow.

Genuine BMW M Performance Big Brake Kit with Painted Calipers $1,950

Genuine BMW M Performance Rear Brake Disks for M Performance BBK $198 x 2 = $396

$1,950 + $396 = $2,346

Just heard back from my CA- the M Performance brakes (Z2C and Z2N) when ordered with the car are installed at the VPC. I just added them to my order...while I'm slightly disappointed that they won't be already installed when I take delivery at the Welt, they will be on the car when I pick it up at the Performance Center. SWEET.

So BOTH option codes are required to get the complete M Performance Braking System? $2,295 is a bit expensive for that IMO (around $75/month increase on a lease) without knowing what the performance increase is. Are there any reviews out there that talk about the increased stopping power?

Here is a thread:
http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=689045

He didn't update the post with more detailed feedback after his initial impressions--but note that he dropped $3500 (ouch!) on them as a retrofit with labor...so if you're considering them, seems to be a reasonable labor savings to add them from the beginning.

Thanks! Think I'll probably go for them because I've always wanted a BBK on a car. And if the extra stopping power saves me from an accident even once, the price would be worth it. And if not, the extra price is still probably justified in the thrill of the extra Gs from stopping quick.
