I am planning to order one for ED. I have visited two local dealers here in South Florida and they said that can not give me a better price than is set for ED. I am aware that ED has 7% discount in the base price but I expect to get more discount....am I expecting too much? would be able any dealer give me an additional discount? I don't mind to go shopping around since I need to pick the car up on Sep 15 so I have some time....any suggestions? any dealer recommendation?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't understand the strategy of not offering MT cars in US, especially for petrol engines

It's BAD strategy. Without the manual transmission option, BMW is just another overpriced car -- with many other good cars available from many manufacturers. The manual option is definitely what brought me and many others to BMW in the first place.

Sure, we all know the agruments about how "leasing" discourages dealers to stock anything out of the ordinary. And how it dooms the manual-transmission option. The problem starts with their shortsightedness and can only be fixed with some wisdom by BMW.

Why are we so different than British customers? They have the manual transmission option on just about everything. It's good strategy there!

That is going to be the case on all MY15 models. Enhanced BT and USB will be a $500 stand alone option

Expressing the opinion that it is "stupid" not to include a manual option, and to question "why?" is not the same thing as being surprised.

I am not surprised. But agree with all those that are disappointed.

what color options will M Sport have? according to UK Config, looks like no mineral white or Melbourne Red for M Sport, that seems extremely silly.

also I see the UK (and probably the rest of the world except the US and Canada) can get Merino Leather as an individual option, why does't BMW offer this in the US?

Take rates are very low for manual transmissions in the US. We aren't buying them, so BMW isn't sending them. That's the analysis.

Agreed - then again since no dealer stocks them, it is very hard to buy them without ordering them so that makes it even harder to get one. It is a lose/lose situation.

lest we forget, the vast majority of people buying these are Not enthusiasts like this crowd and thus prefer automatic. Honestly...I am very likely going to place an order for one...and I'm fine with the automatic. I am treating this like an everyday family car with some punch more than my weekend car.

I too would like to do a Euro Delivery of the 4 Gran Coupe, and would like to know what to expect as far as lease rates/discounts.

For my last one ED 328 coupe, I got it for $500 over Euro Invoice from South Bay BMW.

The Euro Invoice prices used to be published on the forums. Unfortunately, they do not post it anymore.

Any additional information is always welcome!

Thanks,
Ant

I'm also looking to do ED for a 4GC, first week in September. If you guys think you're on to a good group buy, I'd be interested.

I'm in Texas, but would probably tack on PDC.

Agreed, though that is where this discussion gets interesting. I like a good MT as much as the next guy, but we've gotten to the point where you actually GIVE UP a little performance in a MT, compared to modern automatics. The MT choice these days is more about experience than performance. Which makes the target market even smaller.

I got a quote from a dealer offering me $1,645 discount on the ED price. No dealer fees and no shipping ($925).....it has been the best that I have gotten so I guess that I will accept it....how about you guys?
