Any update on the group buy? Or has someone installed these. $800 for a simple plug and play is cheap and installation for this would put it at below 1000.

Looks like they are sold out now. I messaged them a few time and no response. I might just call them.

If you guys are seriously interested in a group buy, then include me. I definitely want to get it for spring/summer install. (Too cold right now.)

In for group buy, but just want to be sure that these don't cause any errors with the vehicle's electrics.

These certainly seem like an improvement on stock halogens. The fact that the thread has been kicking around for about five months and nobody in the states has installed them despite all of the interest is somewhat disconcerting. That said, if someone takes the lead on a group buy, I'm in. Failing that, if we get a positive review from someone in the states that has installed them I may just pull the string. It would be great if he had step by step installation photos.

i emailed them at the beginning of the year and got an automated reply back saying that their entire office was out until 1/12 due to the holiday season. I guess its a pretty small office. They should be back now, but still didn't get a response to my questions.

A few things i'm really curious about...
  1. Do they manufacture their own headlight assemblies/housings? If so, how close is it to the OEM one? Want to know the quality of it compared to OEM quality. Going from a $2500 housing to $800, i'm setting my expectation levels low.
  2. There are enough significant changes to the stock halogen system that makes me skeptical that its truly plug n play. I mean for starters, if you are replacing the DRL bulbs to LED, at the very least you'll probably need to change
    POL_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG - nicht_aktiv
    POL_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG - nicht_aktiv
    POL_L_IS_LED - aktiv
in order to get rid of the diagnostic checks that cause the flicker (that is inherent in switching from halogen to LED).
  3. What does it mean when auto-leveling is built-in? BMW offers that as a higher-end option only for their bi-xenon systems if i'm not mistaken... This is still a halogen system correct? you mean they have auto-leveling for a halogen system? that seems too good to be true. in addition, I would think _some_ coding would be necessary for that alone. And if its truly plug and play, then that means the auto-leveling is built right into assembly itself. How is that even possible without software driving servos, etc...

@johny1904 - mind taking a few close up pics of the housings out of the box before you even start your install? The suspense is kinda killing me ...

At the beginning I apologize for my English level, sometimes I'll have to use google translator.

First answer to squidlyboy questions

1. Headlights design themselves but produce In Taiwan. Like Apple "designed in California assembled in china" . In my opinion, the quality is similar to OEM, I noticed only one difference: black silicon glue leaks here and there, it seems to me that it was because they wanted to make sure that the headlights will tight

2. So far I have installed only one headlight, but at the moment no flicker.

3. Auto-leveling is also built-in halogen headlights. This can be seen when you start the car and turn on the lights and headlights first go up and then back down. This is not just as advanced as xenon, because there is no sensor in the suspension, but it is. Such information I got from a dealer

Starting from the beginning, because of lack of time I installed only one headlight
Unboxing

Then I remove the bumper, I used this guide http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=707251

I have also decided to put off the wheel arch-shield to have better access to the headlight mounting. It is not difficult but it takes time. I needed about 2 hours to remove the two wheel arches shields and bumper.
What's funny i needed almost 1h to remove the lamp - only 3 screws. This screw from top was simple, but those on the back they were difficult

I will only add that the headlights look better live than in the pictures.
I apologize for the poor quality of pictures, as i assemble all together, will add better photos.

Thanks for the initial report. It was quite encouraging. I believe you are in Poland so that suggests you were able to purchase headlamps for a left hand drive car. I look forward to more pictures and your final report including your take on improved visibility. Thanks again!

Thanks @johny1904 for the pics and review! Very nice ...

dayum... this thing is turning out better than i had imagined

1. brand spankin new headlight assembly close to OEM quality
2. angel eye LED DRLs fully installed!! - $280 for the Angel Eye LEDs themselves from ONEighty NYC for a DIY project
3. projectors already installed + option for HID/Xenon for only $165 USD (Morimoto mini H1 full retrofit kit ALONE for $270 by itself for a DIY project from TRS).
4. auto-leveling..
5. plug n play... still too good to believe :-)
6. $800 for total package (or $965 for complete xenon system) !! - Factory BMW option: $900 for a bi-xenon upgrade + $3600 for pre-requisite premium pkg

@johny1904 - did you add xenon upgrades as well? if so, when you are all done, mind taking a pic of the beam cutoff against your garage? I'd like to see how sharp it is...

Wow this is very exciting. I hate my stock halogens and have difficulty seeing in streets that do not have street lamps. This is a very exciting upgrade and I would love to see larger and more detailed pics of the installation. Also, as above, what variation of the lights did you get? Hows the default brightness compared to the halogens?

Has anyone reached out to them to inquire about having them fulfill a group buy? If not I'll be happy to do it.

Ok, not being sure if anyone had done it yet, I reached out to them and asked about the possibility of a group buy and how they might be able to accommodate us. I'll let everyone know as soon as I hear back.
