Coding car to make sound when locking

I do not have an alarm system and thus the car makes no sound when I lock it. Is it possible to code it to make a chirp or beep when being locked?

I coded mine to work, I have alarm, not sure if it is compulsary for the beep through. Try:

HU_CIC / HU_ENTRY - 3000 - Acoustical_lock_confirm - nicht_aktiv to aktiv. After changing that in my iDrive under vehicle Settings > door lock there is an option for audible confirmation sound.

I asked the dealer recently. It is in the shop for other things. Hopefully it is possible. I like the audible sounds for lock and unlock.

Dealers typically don't help with these kinds of things. When I asked them if they can code A.S.S memory, the dealer said it's not possible. 5 minutes with my enet cable and A.S.S memory and 10 other things working 100%

Auto Start Stop. It remembers if you switched it off, so next time you use the car it uses the last settings and doesn't default to on.

No, it is not possible to code the lock / unlock chirp without DWA (factory alarm). The cars lacks the necessary hardware.

Wow, can you actually buy a car without an alarm in the states then?

All UK cars have an alarm and immobiliser as standard. Would have thought it was an absolute necessity.

With all the high tech car thefts going on in Europe, it's understandable.

In Canada, you get the alarm system only if you take the premium package which includes Auto dimming mirrors, Comfort Access, Alarm System, Navigation System and Through loading system.

Don't have alarm so I guess no more beep and beep beep for lock and unlock.

Shame as I prefer the audible signal from previous cars. Believe for the past 15+ years

Anyway to retrofit this in? Or it would be easier to just go with a aftermarket alarm which will have extras as well?

i was under the impression you couldn't even start the car without a security key present let alone drive off with it...and even if the thief figured out how to bypass that security algorithm, BMW Assist could locate the car, disable it, and contact authorities for you...of course, i understand, there's always a way to hack the security code of the key: http://www.nbcnews.com/technology/ha...oophole-868400 but then i wouldn't worry too much, i only have a 428i...i suspect they'd have bigger fish to fry ;P

a car alarm is completely useless nowadays...when was the last time you thought to call the police when you heard a car alarm go off?

yes it's nice to hear the "beep" sound when locking your door and it's really strange that i no longer hear it...what i listen for now are the folding mirror motor when i lock the car because i have mine set to autofold on lock...when i hear that i know my car is locked

But tell me how many times when you don't hear the lock click sound do you still get nervous and walk back to the car to check.

No need. Just look back and if mirrors are folded = vehicle is locked.

Hi.

On my F10 I have this option on iDrive and it is checked but still no beep when I lock / unlock the car. I looked at HU_CIC and this function is aktiv:

HU_CIC / 3000 - Acoustical_lock_confirm = aktiv.

Also on FZD I have group "DWA, 6" but I don't know what functions to check there.
Do you know what coding is missing on my car?
