M-Performance lip and double sided tape
Is it possible to install the M-Performance lip with ONLY double sided tape? Thinking about getting a carbon fiber one soon and will probably change it in a year or 2.

I wouldn't advise it. That tape is strong but at speed there will be a good amount of force exerted on the front lip. Last thing you want is to run it over. You need to add some self taping screws.

Depending on how low your ride is (i'm dropped 2.5" - 3"), and how often you bump and scrape, even with the rivets and screws, over time, these things will tend to come off. when i replaced my m performance lip this weekend, i noticed on my previous one that i was removing:
1) two rivets on one side, and one from the other side ... had come off (there are 4 rivets on each side that attach the lip to the car) 2) i found a total of 5 torx screws remaining on the lip (there are 10 original torx screws attaching the lip to the adapter that attaches to the car). i guess 5 of them unwound themselves over time out of the c-clips (that attached them to the adapter) and fell off. And of the 5 remaining, most had been worn down to the point where the round screw head was almost completely flat. i guess the moral of the story is: - don't even think about going with just double sided tape - if you are lowered, its probably a good idea to check your lip every 6 months or so to see if any of the mounting hardware is starting to come off |

On a side note, the screw that goes up in the middle to secure the post to the bumper loosened on mine and the post in the center started to pull away from the bumper...I assume from the downforce at high speeds. I ended up putting glue on the screw, and screwing it back in. it seems to be holding months later. I didn't use the betalink
