Keeping the car clean this winter has been a nightmare. . The tires were just the rim/tire package offered through BMW, I paid about $2,300 for the whole setup (including storage of the summers)... Which seemed like a good enough deal to get OEM rims. I had Blizzaks on my previous e92 and loved them. Although they are not as precise, the Pirelli's do a great job... Most importantly, I didn't have to deal with the hassle of shopping around and also transporting tires.

i was thoroughly impressed with xDrive in yesterday's blizzard. it was getting really bad but this thing handled the weather like a frickin champ, full confidence up and downhill. 428i xDrive, 15 miles home = 3 hours!

Its not so much the quantity of snow but the cautiousness of drivers... 1-3in of snow on the road caused standstill traffic on alot of ny hwys. It took my coworker about 3hrs to get home as well and her commute is a little less than 20 miles.

Took my sister in law 6 hours to get home, 20 miles from manhattan to far rockaway.

It's because people are stupid. No one knows how to drive in the snow, because they weren't trained how to drive in the snow. They were given a license to operate a vehicle for a couple hundred bucks and some BS "driver training". Then they stay inside in fear when it's snowing, and when they are required to get home, drive 3 miles an hour.

Drivers were generally driving less than 10mph. To add to it, a lot of people actually got stuck, spun out and got stuck, or crashed. A lot of people went to work in the morning, and the snow started earlier than expected.

To add to it, the plows and salt trucks couldn't effectively clear the roads with so many commuters on the roads.

That said, xDrive performed well in the snow when the roads were finally clear of traffic.

I completely agree with you. I'm very impressed with the xDrive. Living in Wisconsin... it's a good feeling when my coupe has a more confident start from a light than the countless pick-up trucks.

Hey,

Amazing pics of your car btw! I just have a quick question, I am considering taking my 435i XDrive up to my friend's chalet in the mountain, some snow and ice on the road. My concern is the clearance, how is the car on the snow, any clearance issues? Should I take my Evoque or Audi Allroad instead or is the 4 equally capable?

Thank you
