used 328i stationary for 2 years
Hi all,
I've found almost my dream car! a 2013 m sport 328i, I checked it out and turns out the registration was cancelled back in 2015, when asking the dealer about this he said the owner moved overseas and stored the car. it has low kms under 30,000 so my question is, assuming it hasn't been driven for almost 2 years, what are the negatives of this? |

worst case: some bugs or very small animals made a home inside of it and chewed on wiring or something. personally i'd ask to get most of the fluids changed out but that's just me.

The small critters is one thing. I would assume seals should be ok, as they don't wear as fast as they used to. I would be worried about the oil and gas that has been sitting there for prolonged periods of time.

I drove the car today and I must say that it ran a lot less smoothly than other 328is I've driven definitely did not drive like the low KMs it has, I felt the transmission was rough and not very soon, there was a burnt oil type smell when I had driven it for a little while and it had none had a vehicle check + oil change + brake fluid change for over 2 years. the dealer would not take my offer of 38,000 when I thought that was a reasonable offer. I don't think I'd buy it now even if he did though, he clearly did not understand that it not being driven was more of a negative then a positive, I also felt like he was a new to the trade as well
