Sky Tv
I have been getting discount on my sky packages and I am coming to the end of my contract again, normally I cancel and then online it tells me to return but the advisor was saying after a couple years of discount that stops happening.
Is this true? Or was he just trying for me to accept a lower deal than what I can get with cancelling |

My discount is about to end too. Spoke to the retention team yesterday and they gave me a decent discount again. I have only been with them for a year though.

I’ve been a sky customer for 9 years and every year I get a good discount currently at 20% across my package.
Have to be strong with them! |

The best deals come to those who cancel. Like me. Then during your cancellation period of a month you'll be offered some sort of discount. I'm currently only 50% off. Have a look at your MySky web page as there may be an offer already there. In any case if you call them and say you'd like to cancel due to the increase in cost they'll likely offer a deal then.

I was on a 50% discount and it's ended so I'm ditching SKY.
1) SKY Q performance and reliability is shocking 2) I pay for SKY TV. Then I pay for SKY movies. AND THEN THEY FNCKING WANT ME TO PAY EXTRA FOR A FILM IN SKY STORE are you kidding me!!!

It’s not as easy to cancel now. They have removed the option from the app and, as far as I can see from the website. I think you have to phone up now.
I called them the other day, threatened to cancel and got offered 40% off the tv bundle. Trouble is, the want an 18 month contract now so they’ll have to do better. |

This is why I'm unsure,
Currently I am 60% off sky tv, have phoned today and they have offered 50% of already but I know if i put my notice through it used to come up on the app and then negotiated further But if they have removed that then im screwed! He did say if I cancel I wont be able to get 50% of and that the return back to sky (50%) doesn't happen anymore because I have had discounts for 3 years now.. |

This time SKY wrote to me offering continued discount following the previous six months. It’s not great about 10% but it’s better than a kick up the arse with a wet sock!
Never had it before by letter, but I’ve a feeling that it has something to do with Virgin Media just installing cable on my street. |

I?ve been with them for 14 years and I have always got between 30% and 50% every time my contract runs out and I renegotiate a discount.

At least with SKY etc they have some decent programmes, standard tv is wank. However, we shouldn’t have to pay for extra on top such as SKY store etc...cheeky barstewards! |

Things that are recorded are not there the next day. Home wifi is so poor now that my Sonus set up skips tracks.

My main Q box freezes at least once a month and i have to cycle the power. No better than the old sky box for that. Sky is an absolute rip off on cost but there is no credible alternative for me.

Currently for me the best phone, broadband, tv deal was with BT.
£51 per month of the full TV pack (without Sky Sports) but get BT sport with 4k. I then buy a Sky Sports pass on Now TV if Utd are on SS. |

I would rather use snail mail that suffer BT customer service again.
And I would rather suffer BT customer service than watch United on tv - unless of course they are getting thrashed! |

I had this very dilemma last week. Wanted to cut down on the tv spends, with already having access to netflix and amazon prime for a lot of our viewing pleasure..
Currently on sky box sets, out of contract std old HD+ box. £38/m. Watch in bedroom via RF2 output and sky eye, so one box, can view in living room or bedroom... Rang up and gave them the usual. VERY easily got it down to £31, but after some serious discussion, came back with 33% off, ~£25.44 I think. Then he drops the sky Q option in, could do you a 2Tb box for £65.. hmmm, I do like gadgets. Anyway, end result just signed up to sky q qhd setup, no RF2 output, so needed multi-room too... In the end, £43/m including multi-room. Some discount that phone call turned out to be...

This is a timely thread...
Im currently negotiating a new deal with sky. Ive got them down to £21 for fibre unlimited (38mb max) and £53 for sky tv (variety, sports, hd and box sets, would normally be £74). From what is being said on here, I should be looking for more off the tv deal. Down to something like £37 per month? Do you actually have to cancel your subscription to be given it? |
