Fender Paintless Dent Repair
I recently damaged the front drivers side fender on my 3 series. The fender itself is pretty expensive for such a small part and want to see if PDR can do the trick. I want to see if anyone had any experience with paintless dent repair and if it will work. 2 PDR specialists said it would have to be done in a body shop, and the other said he would be able to fix it. It slightly worries me that 2 guys said they wouldn't be able to fix it, and one can....Thoughts?
Here is how it is supposed to look. UPDATE: Last edited by 3 Stripes; 07-29-2015 at 10:13 AM.. |

Thats going to be tough. The deformation is right on the edge, and it will take a really good tech to fix that. Two of the guys probably didn't want to deal with the liability, and the headache, however, worst case scenario, if the one guy who said he can do it, doesn't fix it properly, I doubt they would charge you for the labor, so then you would still go to a body shop.

Had the specialist come and repair the fender. He came out and did a good job getting the fender to its original shape. There was some slight marks on the fender that irked me. So i went ahead and ordered some vinyl to throw over the area. It's not perfect by any means (I knew it wouldn't be) but it is good enough for the average person not to notice. The specialist charged $100 for about 1 hour of work and the vinyl cost me 15 bucks on ebay!
