BMW M Performance Parts Development Video and F30 M Performance Wallpapers
BIMMERPOST NEWS BMW M Performance Parts Development Video and F30 M Performance Wallpapers In this video, the Product Managers of BMW's new M Performance Parts retrofit accessories explain and show us the philosophies, process, and techniques behind the development of the BMW M Performance Parts. As one can see, the M Performance Parts are developed in collaboration with BMW M designers and engineers for both visual and performance enhancements. As soon as the production vehicle process is completed, the technical sketch and design phase for M Performance Parts begins. Only real carbon fiber is used in the production of M Performance Parts components. The M Performance exhausts are tested in a BMW soundlab where the production exhaust CAD data is used as the basis for sound engineering the M Performance exhaust system. Intensive testing is conducted for both exterior and interior sound until the proper desired sound is achieved. Exterior M Performance parts are tested in BMW's aerolab where comprehensive testing includes testing for climate variation, water trials, high speed, and wind tunnel testing. Download the full BMW M Performance catalog below, as well as some beautiful hi-res wallpapers of the F30 3 Series decked out in BMW M Performance Parts. We'll have an interview posted soon in which we spoke with someone from BMW's M Performance Parts group. |

Awesome, the video's in German!
I didn't pay much attention to the subtitles as I enjoy listening to German and can't listen to a foreign language and read my native tongue at the same time, but some of the translations were completely different to what the guys where actually saying lol.... although that only goes for the marketing BS like BMW's vision and what the customer feels etc, not for the factual stuff as far as I noticed. Just don't try to learn German by comparing the subtitles with what's said! lol EDIT: I've just watched it again and it's a real shame the way they've done the subtitles. The way the guys talk naturally make it all much more interesting, and yet the subtitles just have the bare facts without any feeling . Last edited by Feanor; 03-09-2012 at 01:13 PM.. |

Are the mirror caps a different shape? Why would they need to be aero tested?

I like the look of the new pedals. They share the same "double swoosh" style that that the newer tail lights have. I wonder if those pedals fit on the e9x cars and other slightly older generations...
The double swoosh pattern is also on the floormats, too.

Not a fan of the rear, looks too boxy. Everything else is alright.

That front splitter is nice. Anybody know if the carbon side mirrors are full replacements or just caps that stick on the existing mirror shells?

1:45 - the wheels actually look badass there since the painted portion of the wheels are hidden in the shadows. I wasn't a fan at first but with that shot I'm starting to become a fan.

+1 That's one of my frustrations with the translated material coming from BMW in general. Even their english initial press release about these parts was gibberish.

I really love the OEM components R&D and Testing. It really sets BMW's performance parts a step above third party aftermarket parts. I feel better when parting with my money.
