I was recommended by the dealer to change my rear pads at 38,000 miles, with fronts good probably another 10k.

Now at 70,000 miles and the pads all round are about 2-3mm, but no wear indicator yet. I'm planning to put stock pads on now as they are starting to feel a little past their sell by.

Are folks generally getting 2 pads to a disc? i can't quite believe it but the discs look good, and have a fair bit of life in them. I can see myself selling the car with 90k on the clock next year still on stock discs

It was Repair my car in Lenton Nottingham.

I used www.whocanfixmycar.com for quotes as my normal mechanic was away.

Hello, apologies for bumping this thread but I've recently bought a 2015 330d with non M Sport brakes and I'm looking to change the pads as they seem very soft. I've bought a set of Brembo pads front and rear for around £85 from carparts4less but I'm wondering whether I need to buy a new brake pad sensor as the light hasn't come on yet? If I do need to change the sensor with the pads where can I source them from- are there one per corner? Eurocarparts info seems confusing. Any advice much appreciated or if anyone can recognise a sensible garage in the midlands to sort it I'll be much obliged

You don't need to change the sensor.

Yes apply to the whole back of pad as thinly as you can which I guess is around 2-3mm

I was quoted £1200 for front discs and pads at Sytner, so I can guarantee that £400 was quoted deliberately

I changed my brakes pads over the weekend first done the fronts on Saturday done about 30 miles no problem. Changed the rears today and after a v long drive now sounds like a 15 year old bus and is worse than before. I did attempt to bed them in after fitting and used the crc brake quiet. I did wash the car today shortly after fitting the rear pads.
