Anyone "trade up" from a newer STi to an F30?

Hey, all. I'm curious if any of you have "traded up" from a newer STi to an F30. If so, what are your feelings on how the two cars compare (ie, my STi was better at this, my F30 is better at this).

I've only had my 328i for a few weeks now and find myself comparing the two with some frequency. Curious as to your thoughts.

Cheers!

I had a 2011 STi which I traded for a 2012 335i. No comparison at all (even before Stage 1 tune). The STi could probably out corner the BMW, but the torque of the 335 really makes the car shine. Having to run through three gears to hit a good 0-60 in the STi hurt it's acceleration.

But stock for stock the STi is a tad quicker than the 335 so what your saying makes no sense.

Huh. I've driven a 2011 STi quite a few times, and it always felt very slow to me where the 335 feels like a freight train. I love the way the boost comes on at ~3500 on the STi, but then it just hits a brick wall.. needs a tune to keep the power coming.

STI is not faster in 0-60/1/4 mile or trap speed than an 335.

I know this isn't exactly the same but I went from a tuned (stage 1) Legacy GT 5spd to a 335i MSport. Obviously the performance increase is a no brainer but to touch on the fit and finish between the 2 is absolutely no comparison. They LGT just felt extremely low rent when I moved into the new 335i. The interior in the BMW makes the LGT interior look and feel ridiculously cheap. I've also spent extensive time in a new WRX which has a similar interior to the STi. The LGT makes the STi interior feel super cheap and flimsy. So when you compare the fit and finish of BMW F30 to a WRX/STi they are about as far apart as one could imagine.

The other thing worth noting is the MPG. From my time in the new WRX I got about 22.5 MPG, on the exact same route I get 28 MPG from the 335i.
