Buying a new 2013 BMW 328I
Hey guys, I am new to the forum and hoping to buy my first BMW!!! Ever! I know the 2014 model is around the corner (maybe in August?). So I want to hear your guys opinion.
Should I wait for couple months to try to grab a good deal on 2013 clearance? If this is the option, what months are usually the good months? August? Sept? holiday season? Or should I go with the 2014 model, if so what "big" things are new? Thanks in advance guys. |

There a a few nice changes to some of the 2014 models that the 2013's do not have, I think the main ones are:
1 - Nav Professional option with touch option 2 - Launch Control (there are more and some are bundle changes, other will give the rest) If you are looking for a coupe, you have no other option but to wait. I don't think there will be any huge price adjustments for the year change as this is a new model just introduced last year, also most are built to order so inventory levels should not be that high. I usually try to buy the newest model if I can but you will have to shop it and see what works best for you. best time to buy a car in the year is probably the last quarter and the best time of month is the end. Good Luck Kevin Quote:

I mean, okay. The vehicle really isn't changing that much from 2013 to 2014, nor do we really care about when you purchase. Buy when you are ready, and test drive for sure!

If you are talking about buying an equivalently equipped 2013 or 2014 new car off the lot, you will likely get a better deal on a remaining 2013 once the 2014s arrive at the dealership. |

Generally December is the best time to buy a car.. I doubt the 2013 models will last till then so your best bet is the last day of the month of any given month. I work in the business office of a dealer and I've worked at a few different brands. They all seem to be the same. If you dont care about the year then personally I would go with the previous model year, just bcuz they are trying to open their inventory for the new model year. Although, Im not quite sure whats coming in new and different on the 2014 models.
I live and work in LA and most dealers care more about volume than gross.. Im not sure how out of state dealers operate, but over here you can get a car about $2-3 under invoice.. My car personally was $47.565 MSRP invoice selling price was $39100 Im not sure what invoice was but its probably somewhere around $44000 It also helps when you know somebody at the dealer to get a really good price |

Hey rose, it really sounds like you got an awesome deal! Do you mind messaging me the dealer you were at and more specifically the sales person you dealt with?
Really appreciate it! |

If the MSRP was $47,565, there is no way the invoice was as high as $44,000, probably more like $42,000. Still can't believe you got it for 3K under invoice, that's unheard of.

It depends how picky you are about options and colors. If you want a basic model, there is plenty of inventory. But if you want specific options, then either search inventory far and wide or order the car. I searched seven Florida dealers and only found one 328i in stock that was a 90% match to my wish list. For example, my local Sarasota dealer has about 30 328i sedans and none of them have the lighting package.
