USB-Audio Cover/Album Art Dimensions

I saw a few threads regarding Album Art showing up or not on NBT when mp3's are played via the armrest USB audio, so I decided to experiment. Taking a huge cover art JPEG I had, I created various resizes of it (in Photoshop) ranging from 2000x2000 down to 300x300 in decrements of 100x100. I then used MP3TAG to embed these JPEGs into a set of MP3 files (all in a single folder) and took the stick to the car.

From 300x300 right up to 1000x1000 the cover art displayed correctly, with no discernible quality differences on my Control Display as resolution went up. At 1100x1100 and bigger, no cover art was displayed. I therefore created a custom 1010x1010 and tried that, and it was also not displayed.

I therefore conclude, at least with my firmware revision of NBT, that embedded art up to 1000x1000 will display - anything larger simply won't.

FWIW. that 1000x1000 test art was a JPEG of 608KB in size.

Good to know. I have had problems with some album covers over 300x300 not displaying, but I don't know how much of that problem is from other issues.
