HUD Sat Nav Display Issue

Occasionally the sat nav display in the HUD shows in the full black panel display instead. Tends to happen when starting on a return journey. No changes made in iDrive to HUD or display settings - just does it all on its own.

Tried turning off and restarting engine but makes no difference. Next day shows in HUD again without issue.

Anybody else had this happen?

Don't have HuD anymore but never had that in my old F31 with it fitted - suggest you get a video of it as proof and then dealer trip......

I have HUD and have never encountered that issue, try playing around with the HUD settings to reset it, i.e, brightness, horizontal/verticle angle ...etc I think you can even turn HUD off then back on.

Maybe it does it when NAV is active and its making a bluetooth connection or connecting to Connected Drive or something then switches back to HUD ??

If this issue was not there before then I would press the dealer for a firmware update. Mine does not do this. Well we have three cars with HUD. 2012. 2015 and 2017. None of them do it. Not even the one with the speed limit camera. You will have to recode any coding you have made if you have after the firmware update.
