Lovin' the 350LC references. I had one as well and it was a blast. Happy days!

Couldn't agree more re Moggie Minors - dreadful cars.
Learned to drive in my father's white estate version, which had numerous faults from new, including the paint peeling off the roof in the first year.

He went on to graduate, some years later, to a Morris Ital (having learned nothing it would seem) and rejoiced in the six-monthly task of greasing the many nipples on the suspension and prop shaft.
You could tell that the greasing was due by the eye-bulging steering effort required to get it round a corner as the trunnions dried up and all but seized up.
A hideous vehicle.

Incidentally, my own 1963 Mk1 Cortina would never have made it to the "Ten Year Test", having been scrapped after about 8-9 years with the front wings flapping in the breeze and the road visible through the drivers floor where it had rusted through.

In this day and age of the internet I'm shocked there is still actually top shelf material still in newsagents.

You know you are old when you remember the days one of your parents would send you to the shop to buy cigarettes for them with a note to the newsagent and there would be no problem with the newsagents serving you even though you were well under 16.

When.... your car key looked like a key, your bunch of keys had an AA box key on it and a key for the aerial.
