this is very simple to answer. Under Dyno Conditions the flap is open. so wiring it open all the time makes no difference.

There is one reason for this "mod" - to increase the volume of music your engine produces.

There's threads on here w/ sound clips. the M exhaust isn't going to be as loud as aftermarket....but it's noticeably louder than OEM
MrCarCrazy, that is what i meant, will performing this mod by myself will increase the music from the engine? Do you know if think it would a noticeable difference in sound?

This way the car does what it wants but you've kept the exhaust where you want it. Just did a lousy recording with the Blackberry and will try to upload it. Apologies in advance for the poor quality.
Fshubert....if I have the MPE installed on my 335i at the dealer, will it require them to recode anything? Or is it simply saw off the old, clamp on the new? It seems all of the talk about the actuator wiring (which is attached to the stock exhaust) would throw a code when they unattach from the old exhaust and reattach to the new. I only ask because I don't want BMW messing with any codes on my car for the time being. I just had the PPK installed and don't want the headache of them "accidentally" erasing it.
