Car care products..

Has anyone tried this brand swissvax? It's kind of expensive not sure if it's good. I've been an avid fan of meguiars and zaino, keen on trying on some new products this time around.

I'm having Morrie Marinai from Reflection Perfection fully detail my F30 in November. Amongst a host of paint cleaning, treating, waxing etc is a sealant called Nitroseal. A relatively new product, a little over 1 year old, it has had rave reviews from detailers all around the world.

Morrie will be treating my car with this 2 part sealant. You might want to check this product out as well. Cheers.

Yes! Swissvax is excellent! I've used 2 tubs of it... and just brought another tub in anticipation of the arrival of my MSport...

My first Swissvax as a Concourso... it was excellent... I tried a number of different waxes after I ran out of Concourso and nothing even comes close!
Eventually brought a tub of Onyx (about half the price of Concourso) - it was great but just not the same!

Hence I've just got another tub of concourse sitting in my house waiting for the car to arrive! the paint cleaner is a bit of a pain to apply though...

Thanks for the input.

David: I did check out that product.. definitely tempting.. will read more about it. $60 from Amazon. I'm pretty sure it's similar to that opticoat 2.0. I wouldnt mind trying it out but i have been using polymer sealants for the past few years thought of trying some Carnauba. Found some youtube videos MMMM looking good.

CrazyLatte: Wow concourso is like 320 bucks! o.O SWISSVAX Blau-Weiss seems to be a BMW paint specific ones. Saw some good photos by some forum members. Check em out..

Also hows the durability of the concorso.?

I've only tried the Onyx, haven't tried the Blau-Weiss. I believe both products are on the same level so I'd expect result to be similiar. Onyx is a great product but just doesn't have the depth of Concourso. I had a black car for 4 years and you can really tell the difference.

They easily last 4 to 6 weeks. I almost always wax them again every 4 to 6 weeks so I can't comment what durability is like beyond the 6 weeks.

How long does a 200ml tub of concourso last? Or how many applications do you get out of it? Sounds incredible, but far out, that is some expensive wax.

From reading it says that concourso will last about 4 months but I'm like CrazyLatte I enjoy doing it every 2 months.

The tub will last a long time!

Make sure you apply thin layers, as thick layers will only make the curing time longer and buffing process more difficult.

Swissvax products are certainly of fine quality, but from a durability aspect, you are best off purchasing a synthetic sealant.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't last you 5 years...
I've used 1.5 tubs on my last car over a 3 year period...

and yes... there were occassions where I applied 2 to 3 layers...

if you are looking for durability I suggest you apply coating rather than wax...
I tried a number of synthetic products and they just don't produce the same level of shine and depth

Whilst $300 is a lot of money for a tub of wax, so is ~$80k for a car... for me its a worthwhile investment

My is estoril blue! Initially went with jet black but dealer said it wasn't available on msport...
Such a shame! I'm just not a fan of black with metallic! It just lacks that depth and fullness

You won't be disappointed with the finish/gloss and general appearance.
You might be disappointed by durability.

Any protection is good.

The only issue i find is the lacking of instructions and guides for this product. I'm guessing just a coin size will do per 1m2 area

Jin, the less the product, the better.

Did you get application pads? If so, you apply a very thin layer over each panel. you'll find you'll need to dab from the pot less and less each time. Just make sure you have evenly distributed the product accross the panel.

I'd let if cure overnight in the garage and then buff off the next morning with a clean microfibre.

Then I'd go over the entire car again with another microfibre.

Another last minute (obvious) tip...make sure the surface is clean. That's why they give you the surface cleaner.

For any sealant/wax/coating to work to its full effect, the surface needs to be clean from oils, waxes, polishing residue, contaminants, etc.

All the best mate! Post up some pics when you're done
