Just placed the order Friday. Did go w/ the Mineral Gray 335i M sport line and decided on the coral red interiors but decided to go w/ the Hex Aluminum trim vs. dark wood once I saw the hex alum in person @ dealer. Much darker than brushed aluminum and the pattern almost looks like carbon fiber so I think it will look awesome w/ the black & coral red. Have always been a wood trim kind of guy but after my X5M which has carbon fiber trim & no wood I decided to go in a different direction.

Glad to hear that. I think that combo will look awesome in real life. I really liked that hex aluminum when I saw it at the dealer. Not a fan of the simple brushed alum but this hex alum looked good. Now of course I have to wait a ton to see the finished product!
I'm sure I'll miss the size & power of my X5M but that's the benefit of leasing, driving something totally different every 3 years. One thing I won't miss is the gas the X5M sucks up! |

I hear you on the gas... My previous car to this on was an F07 550i GT. Loved the car, but it was so huge and sucked gas like crazy. The 335i seems much peppier to me than the 550i, probably due to better HP/weight on the 3GT, and I get 24MPG in the city, whereas I was about 16 on the 5GT. Oddly I find internally the car fits about the same in the trunk, only when I need the space if folding the seats down do I notice that it's smaller overall.

24MPG City w/ the 335??? Great! The X5M would get about 11mpg city w/ that twin turbo v8 and the 5,000 weight of it. You're right about the size... To my surprise there is actually more leg room in the 335 GT than the X5 (I measured it and was just blown away at the fact a 3 series could have more legroom than an X5). The x5 has about 6 inches more width than the GT so not much and the ride height on the GT was actually not as low as I would have assumed coming from the tall X5. The big difference will be in the trunk for those rare occasions where I needed to fit a large & tall item where a hatchback won't close but those are rare for us so looking forward to the sportiness of the GT vs. X5. Off the line w/ the 335 acceleration should be similar to the X5M, hopefully a hair faster due to weight so I think I will be very happy w/ the power and won't feel like I'm going from a rocket (X5M) to a slow car...

I just took re-delivery of my MG over Coral last week. Mineral Grey is very close, at least under garage lights, to our Sparkling Graphite E90.
Here are a couple pics I had taken during the walk down to delivery in the Welt. In the right lighting MG looks incredible, but in direct sunlight it can look a little washed out...I wish it was a bit darker like Singapore Grey, but I still don't think it would be enough to go BSM instead of MG if I had to re-order. Coral interior is absolutely fantastic, and I really can't imagine many people not being thrilled with it because it comes across so much better in real life than in pics or renders.

My BMW website & bmw phone number states my 335i GT M Sport went into production! Ordered was placed Monday and originally was given an first week of April production start date (which sucked) but spoke to sales manager and he moved it up for me so this is much better. All my chosen color/trims & options show up on the website and estimated completion is March 7th (BUT I highly doubt the estimated completion date). Can't wait!

I'm assuming it went into production. The website shows it in step 1 production and the phone number says it's in production and estimated completion is March 7th. If that's all accurate that's great. Of course then all the waiting for transport to my dealer will add 3 more weeks or more.

In the North America My BMW website, there's a function to add the production number or VIN. There's also an 800 phone number to call.

Mine finished production, and then arrived at the port in Germany on Jan 31, it arrived at the dealership here in Chicago on Monday 3/3 and I took delivery on Tuesday 3/4. It sat at the port in Germany for about a week before getting on a ship, and then sat at the port in Baltimore for a week before getting transported to Chicago. It was a pretty frustrating wait. It was worth it in the end though I guess. I hope yours moves faster.

Wow so about a month in transport! I'm just north of you so I better prepare for a long wait as well.

I think 4-6 weeks is pretty standard wait for delivery after production finishes. The worst part about Euro delivery is dropping it off and then waiting 6-8 weeks or more (mine was 8 exactly) to get the car back. ED cars take longer to re-deliver than normal US Deliveries for various reasons, but time spent on a boat or truck is 16-20 days regardless. If you get lucky and your car gets on the Grand Pioneer that sets sail Monday and only has a 12 day transit to NY, you could possibly get it before the end of the month. I would guess you'll either be on the Independence II (sails 3/12-14 day transit) or Don Juan (sails 3/18-15 day transit) though.

Ordered 335GT today
Just got back from Dave Walter BMW in Akron, OH, where I ordered a 2014 335GT:
Glacier Silver w/Coral Red Interior Aluminum trim Premium Pkg Cold Weather Pkg Driver Asst Pkgs (1 & 2) Dynamic Handling Pkg 19" Wheels Technology Pkg Active Cruise HK sound Now the wait begins. Sales Manager mentioned the MPPK, but I thought the asking price of $1,730 was a little steep. I was wondering what you guys were paying for it. The nice thing is, if I go for it, it will be installed at port when the car arrives and will have full warranty. |

BTW, I'm 99.9% sure that having it installed at the dealer also gives the full warranty. (If you're leasing, however, the port install will cause the residual value to reflect the PPK.) |
