Hey what's up guys my car use to chirp or have a soft electronic sounding beep when I lock or unlock my car with key fob or comfort access. I recently took the car to my dealer and I think the updated the ecu or dme. Now when I lock or unlock it uses my horn. I found out this morning when locking my car and it scared the crap out of me. I though someone was honking at me. Anyone know where I can change this? Thanks in advance.

double check your settings in the tone (think that's where it is) menu. See if it has a selection for chirp vs horn. I know if you have the car running it will honk at you. Otherwise, you may have to code the car. It's odd that the dealer would code a horn vs chirp - which chirp is the default. but who knows...

It's in the settings somewhere. I don't know where, my dealer turned it off before I took delivery, so I never looked for where it's at.

Locking car with engine off is audible chirp and can be configured in idrive.
Locking car with engine on is horn honk and can only be configured by coding.
