205 to 2TB - paddles help

Hi,

I did a VO code on my 2014 F30 and changed 205 to 2TB, works fine

I read that i need to disable the paddle shifters now as i don't have them and it's likely throwing errors.

I have read i need to do FDL coding and modify:

SZL_LWS_03 > Variantencodierung 3000 > Lenkrad_Schaltpaddles = nicht_aktiv

basically setting paddles option back to not active...

I have searched my FEM_Body "tree" and don't have anything close to the above.

Does anyone know what i'm doing wrong here?

Thanks in advance!

It should be PADDLES_VERBAUT in FEM, and you can also use the search field to look for paddles.

So this would mean the paddles are already disabled? I thought 2TB would enable that by default?

...it's a link to an image, not sure why i can't embed it in the page, the IMG tag doesn't work for me.

Yes, that means paddles are disabled like they should have been by default.

Are you sure you VO coded FEM having 2TB in the FA?

Nope, i didn't which explains it, I guess i've been reading too much. I only did the following and one of them wasn't an option(on right-click)... but no FEM.

You have to code new FA (as explains the pdf file attached above) in 4 ECUs :
-EGS,
-GWS,
-Kombi,
-ICM.

So it's that simple? before i go back to the dealer just recode VO to 205?

Thanks for the help

Right, that indeed explains it. I believe it's not necessary to code GWS for 2TB, but FEM_BODY should be coded. In every cases the paddle shifters should be disabled if you don't have those (as is the case), in addition to throwing up errors having them coded will also cause "phantom" shifts for no reason.

And yes, if you want to revert the car back to the original when taking the car to the dealer you can simply revert 2TB with 205 and VO code FEM_BODY, ICM, KOMBI and EGS.

So should i code FEM_BODY now because i haven't? and then disable the paddles? is there something else i am missing in FEM_BODY that should have been coded when i did the VO?

Not sure since I never did a comparison, so it's best to VO code FEM and then disable the paddles. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes either.

But after coding FEM, you will face with paddles error even if you turn them off via fdl
