MY14 more powerful? +1% Any other changes?

Having ordered my car, I was cleaning out my online configurations and noticed my 330d configurations were showing 262hp, not the 258hp shown in my brochure.

A quick look across the range shows a similar percentage increase across the entire range.

A bonus to be sure. Simple optimisation?

Anybody know of any other changes afoot? I know about the new iDrive for pro-media and have read rumours of a Coast-Mode in Eco Pro.

Well spotted Rich. BMW have been criticised in the past for undermeasuring their power outputs. Perhaps they have remeasured their outputs and have brought figures up to date? Or have they dragged some more power from tweaks?

Most obvious answer: it is a typo, 262PS (pferdestarke, or German horsepower) = 258hp.

That makes sense. A further look shows both brochure and configurator as 190kW. So, a typo of hp instead of ps would fit in too conveniently. Shame.

However, nice to know they are typically undervalued!

Anyway, it should be showing the REAL horsepower (as found out by NISFAN). All those figures are wrong....

This appears to be from over the pond... However, it appears to be a mode where the car puts itself in neutral. The aim seems to be to reduce engine braking and allow the car to roll further. It must be a trade off of idling the engine vs engine braking.

Just found Nisfans post on the real hp of a 330d.

Yes, the standard bhp it would appear seems very impressive for the 330d and on par with the old E9X 335d.

On the other hand, I think the 330d PPK kit is not worth the money. It appears to offer a mere 17 bhp more.

The final PPK'd bhp is impressive and very close to the F30 335d .....BUT.... It's only because the 330d has a high output as standard.

Is it confirmed that it is on UK cars? Everything I've read is pretty ambiguous...

Oh and where is this Bhp post???

There is little anywhere about it. Though, it does seem to all from over in the States. My dealer had no idea. However, they seemed not to know a lot of the things I asked about!

I was hoping somebody may have witnessed it on a UK car.
