So Ive ordered some spacers for my car, I've gone for the 12mm/15mm set up. I'm trying to buy some longer bolts to accommodate the spacers. The way I see it my original bolts are 27mm thread length. So I theory I should add on the spacer since to that 27mm. I.e 27mm+12mm would require a thread length of 39mm. For the life of me I can't find any M14x1.25 39mm bolts same for the rear no M14x1.25 42mm. Do they have to be exactly that length or can they be 1 or 2mm shorter?

Stud conversion is the only way to go for BMWs and other European makes that incorporate bolts. There really isn't any downside to stud conversion, only positives. You can easily order the correct stud to keep the nut and stud inside the face of the wheel. To each, their own.
