Now, specific to AWHK, since HK country control is blocking access to office, and he could enable it by removing the country controller and change the country in HU_CIC to hongkong, but "messages" menu in Office is not visible (but seems selectable still since I did see the "tick" next to it). AWHK could live with this flaw, or perhaps try changing the COUNTRY assignment to china or taiwan? I'd try with China because China do have Office enable for their market, so perhaps it would display everything properly together with the chinese character? I'm not so sure about Taiwan, but if china doesn't work, no harm trying As for the rest of us being blessed with US/ECE CIC units, we will have to find other ways to load the asian font in so that our idrive would display these instead of squares/rectangles... |

It's a shame that you cannot make your HU to display Asian characters. Hopefully someone can discover ways to install more languages to the system soon. |

To access "messages", do you also see the "message" menu option in "Telephone"? CIC unit have this, so we can access messages via "Telephone" main menu as well. |

Same for me, it can be accessed via 'Telephone'>'messages' or 'Office>'Office today'. It doesn't work as well as I thought it would be and it takes too many steps to reach the menu. I guess you can set shortcut to 'messages' menu if you receive loads of texts while driving.

I think for those whose car doesn't have CIC they can still try to code the HU to show Asian characters, that's cos the L7 Entry HU for HK-spec doesn't have unique p/n.

Hey Shawn, tried a link that you previously sent me but seems to be out now. Can you send me the latest and greatest for a 2013? Thanks again.

Guys,
For those with passenger seat belt warning enabled, could you confirm what's the setting for these two in ACSM \ 3000 Ausstattungsflags SBR_Sensor_Beifahrer_LIN SBR_Sensor_Beifahrer_widerstandscodiert Were these 2 active or inactive in order for the passenger seatbelt warning to work. I've enabled all the other settings (similar to driver side), but still not getting any warning for passenger seat. Similarly, I'm also trying to enable the seatbelt indicator for rear passenger (saw this working in Germany): I've enabled this, but no response on the cluster as well (should see small icon with three head with green/red denoting each seat), red = not belted) Gurtzustandsanzeige_Fondsitze_GWF_GZAF |

Check the link from your cell phone web browser, and I think you will find they are working just fine.

So you have set both of these to aktiv, and the Passenger seat belt status and warnings are not working?
Gurtzustandsanzeige_Fondsitze_GWF_GZAF though requires that the backseat physically has seat belt sensors installed, which is standard for European builds, but not U.S. builds. I don't know what Singapore gets, but I am guessing you don't have it either. Maybe it is possible too that you passenger seat also physically lacks the sensor?

Ok, then it is this:
HU_NBT / SPEEDLOCK_X_KMH_MAX Werte = FF HU_NBT / SPEEDLOCK_X_KMH_MIN Werte = FF VIDEO_NUR_MIT_HANDBREMSE does not exist with HU_NBT, so do not worry about it.

Much thanks to Svache and Shawn for all the info and help! Got the cable from Lithuania and software loaded earlier this week. Changed a few of my F30 settings to include:
-DVD in motion -Orange front marker bulbs only illuminate when turn signal is on -Fob now puts up windows and opens/closes side mirrors -M Settings menu now available (are there other CAF values you can change to allow manipulation of your M settings??) -Actual PSI values for TPMS monitoring -Disclaimer delete for SATNAV startup and seatbelt warning delete -Last but not least...activated "Spirit of Ecstasy" menu for settings (WTF is this...I expected a blow-up doll to appear from below the seat! Unfortunately it didn't happen...) Now I can select "Spirit of Ecstasy" under settings and it gives me the option to increase, decrease or "automatic". Although it won't let me select any of the options...I'm assuming something else has to be coded. Also, I think it may have something to do with BMW owning RR... http://wikicars.org/en/Spirit_of_Ecstasy Anyone have any experience with "Spirit of Ecstasy"?? (as related to their F30 and this setting...not what they did last weekend in Amsterdam) |

Why, are you getting a [C012] Missing CAFD error?
