Waiting for the 2018 lease deals to get better?

Been looking for ideal 17' 4er that match my desire and also budget, but getting a little frustrated seeing the MF go up and RV go down...

Should I wait for the 18's numbers get better and get a lease on one instead?

The truth is nobody knows whether the lease program is going to get better or not for any model. The end of the year is usually a good time to find a decent deal.

What are some of the deals you've seen? My lease is up in December and when I got quotes 3 years ago, I was seeing monthly rates of around 1% of the MSRP/Retail value (this was for 335i, not a 440 so that might be the difference). Now, I'm in the market for a 440i and I'm seeing $700+ for a 63k and change car. This is all 0 cap reduction of course, no money down other than taxes and fees.

residuals on the 2018 4 are lower than usual right now, there was some expectation they would come up in october and didnt, November programming will likely bring whatever they plan for the holidays so if they are going to rise it will be then.

There is a 2k lease credit on 2018s to partially offset the residual but it becomes less valuable as MSRP rises vs a higher residual

I'm kind of confused because the '17 deals are much better than the '18 deals.

If you want an '18, wait for December. If the holiday deal isn't good enough, you might as well look elsewhere. It won't get better than that.

Depending on where you are there is the UDE. I have been hearing they are not giving the usual credit towards buying/leasing at these events in most areas. I set mine up for Citi field then on the other BMW board I was hearing NY is not getting any credit so I may not go. My lease is up in 5 and because of the new pricing I will look elsewhere.

I just got $7,500 off my build and lease rates seem decent.

Anyone think December numbers will be better or will they be the same as Nov?

Should be the same, but doesn't hurt to wait.

Yeah, there is a car I found on lot that has great specs but I want/need to wait until December 2 to pick up because I'll be out of town and I want to see Dec. numbers but dealer will not hold past Nov 30 so I did not put a deposit down. Makes me think Dec may improve?

Nah, the dealer doesn't know any better than we do. But he'd rather move the car then hold one for 3 weeks. Or he may have a quota to hit this month and he's using that offer to hit his numbers.

I signed my lease in Oct although back then I also wanted to wait and see if the lease numbers will improve in Nov or Dec. Reason was that the discount on a 18 model was very big, and I had to choose between loosing the opportunity for better lease numbers and loosing the car to someone else waiting. I chose the prior, and at least from the numbers of Nov I didn't lose anything.

But who knows what happens in Dec...
