iOS 7 and Bluetooth Functionality
Just wondering if anyone else has seen a change in the Bluetooth functionality with the iOS 7 update.
I can no longer use my steering wheel buttons or dash buttons to change the tracks and the music no longer starts on its own once I select the Bluetooth audio source. I now have to manually go into my iPhone and start and control the music from there. Anyone have a similar experience? |

Now I haven't tested it in my F30 (still waiting for it) but on my E92 bluetooth audio worked fine when I first got my iPhone 5s. Ever since I updated to 7.0.2 bluetooth audio no longer works. It's grayed out on idrive, and restarting, re-adding device does nothing.
Before you could see telephone enabled and then select the device and it would re-connect audio, but now doing so does nothing. So you can at least connect bluetooth audio?

...and "Y" cable
I use the Y cable in my X5 and have lost the same functionality: no track advancement with the steering wheel controls - don't have Bluetooth audio, so can't speak to that. Thanks Apple...

I've had the same problem also with the BT audio. It wouldn't connect on its own and I had to manually play the music off my phone. Then one day it started to play again once connected but now I'm back to started the music manually. Don't know what the problem is

I have no problems with my iPad mini with iOS 7 in my F30. I use Spotify for music (don't have any mp3's on my device) And I have full controll over my music. All functions work. maybe It's a Iphone/Ipod problem?

Not sure if this is specific to ios7 or bluetooth or both. But just got my 2014 with tech package and when I try to stream a non-itunes app, it plays for a bit and then switches itself to play the music app, music!
So I'll start spotify and hit play, plays for a bit and then stops and switches to music app and begins playing music from there. It's like it forces itself to play through the music app, it's annoying! Anyone else have this issue?

No problems here with iOS 7.0.3 with an iPhone 5. BT Audio just works. I don't use the Music app much, but when I do, it works.
I mostly use the podcast app "Pocket Casts" and when I go into the car, the BT auto connects and starts playing my podcast automatically from the last time I left the car. The only BT/iOS problems I have are with Office. Can't get ANY messages (e-mail/text) to work. |
