Well, if its of any help, here's the timeframes Ive had so far:

Build Date: 21-May-2012
Build Complete 29-May-2012
Recieved at Durban: 12-Jun-2012 (Two weeks, so you gotta be close)
Loaded on Vessel: 14-Jun-2012 (This and recieved showed up on T&T same time... 14-15th)
Discharged @ Freo: 2-Jul-2012 (But 5 days was waiting at port at Reunion - not nomral)

Then its 5 more days round to Melbourne.

So I was bang on 6 weeks from build date to port. Ideally, that would be 5 weeks if it hadnt danced the funky chicken at reunion for 5 days. So, you'd be plus 1 week for being east coast, so if you estimate for 7 weeks, 6 if all goes well, then thats prolly about right...

By the way - mine didn't show on track and trace - because my dealer gave me the wrong VIN! I replaced an 0 with an A and found it. validated it was my build on bmwinfo.com. Maybe double check your VIN shows up there to make sure its your car if you haven't already.

Looks like 31 were dropped off at Freo. A mixture of customer orders, dealer stock and demonstrators. Interestingly enough there is only 1 diesel!!

Hey All,

This is my first BMW purchase and it's been both fun and frustrating. Fun with the tracking from the great links and info provided in the AU forum, and frustrating with the wait, so close yet so far ….. The ship carrying my 328i arrived last Thursday (28/6) and I was really excited to see the "Discharged" status. I thought that was the end of the tracking and the dealer did mention that it could take up to 2 weeks to clear customs. I did a bit of searching of other forums and found there is one more entry "Delivered from ", before you know it's on the way to the dealer. The time to clear customs may vary with each port/city and how many cars were dropped off, mine had 45. Someone also mentioned that rain can add time to the delivery and it was raining when the ship docked last week but has been fine since then. I'll provide updates with my status so everyone can get a rough idea of when their baby is due.

I hope this helps everyone with the anxiety of the wait!

Woohoo! Called my the dealer this morning and my baby has arrived. It actually arrived on Friday and they tried calling on the Sat afternoon but I was out, and they were closed by the time I got the message.

Will be picking the car up on Sat, can't get any time off until then ....

I sent my dealer an email today saying when will you get it and will I get it by the weekend, nothing yet - whcih is better than a No.

However based on your dealer needing the car from 10th to the 16th, I need tinting on top of that, so i might be mid next week...
