BMW 405M Wheels Yes / No / Maybe
The wheels that I want are not available for a long time, I'm almost tempted to buy a set of 20" forged style 405M for my grand coupe. I found a picture of a F36 with a set mounted on it and I kind of like it. Suggestion ?

Looks good. Have you looked at the 442M 19" grey?

Ah, the 20's worry me. Too little rubber between the potholes and wheel.

I've had the 405M's on my car for two seasons now and while I love the look they are damn rough. Forget potholes, hitting a small crack in the road you'll feel it. That being said I haven't had a flat or cracked rim (yet). Do I regret buying them? No. Would I do the same setup again? No. I honestly recommend spending the money on a slightly cheaper wheel and non-RFT's.

I like the look dont like the offsets nor the wheel widths.. 20x8.5 fronts with 20x10 rears would have been perfect. BMW needs to make wheels that "fill the well" sort of speak.
I know it may be legally challenging for BMW as in EU tire/wheel packages should be able to run snow chains.

I bought a set off of ebay for my new f36 I am about to order. I put them on the GT just for fitment and to see if I liked the pirelli's. With run flat they were rough. I am pulling Pirelli's off and buying PSS. They do look good but hopefully getting away from the runcraps will soften the ride. I have 19's with DW's right now and it rides good on my GT. I also do not like the sizes they are too narrow. I may get rid of them and run HRE's but not sure yet.

Wheels look good! I'm looking at a used set off a m235 for my 428 coupe xdrive. Are you happy with them?

I have them on my car and think they look great. I drive a GT3 as well so I am used to an ‘engaged’ ride...and you need run flats if you don’t have a spare. They are one of the nicest looking wheels on the market OEM or not - imho...

I bought my car with the 405's as well. I've looked at getting a different set, but I keep going back out and being happy I have them. Ride can be harsh sometimes, but as mentioned above, I have yet to damage one. I think they are an awesome OEM wheel. The only thing is I do find myself wanting spacers.

I have these wheels and frankly they set the car apart so much, especially with my alpine white and gold m performance brake calipers. I love the design and it's not very common.
The stock run flats that come with they are terrible so I would recommend going with PS4's, which yield a much better ride and performance.
