It really depends on the car you get - and obviously 15k on a lease automatically bumps that amount up due to the residual drop.

How much money you spend is up to your budget and how many option boxes you check. A fully loaded car starts to add up quickly.

This thread got out of the control quickly

What I was trying to say is: everything else being equal (errors in the BMW online calculator, money factor, down payment, mileage, etc) the more expensive 435i has a lower lease rate than the cheaper 335i. Why? That was all. I wasn't discussing if the deal is good or bad, or what mileage, etc.

I think the answer was in the residuals. The coupe will hold its value better than the sedan. That's it.

I pay a hair more than you do and when i say hair i mean the cost of a happy meal and maybe a sundae from mcdonalds more. But i'm in a 2013 535 msport... The car you are driving would've run me under $600 a month, nothing out of pocket. (well, minus tax, registration etc)

Well see thats the difference...I put literally nothing down...taxes tags and such was over 3k...thats and increase $90/mo in payment. I had a 535 in my queue, as I originally wanted a 5 But after driving them (m3/535/550/335) The 335 was undeniable when I incorporated price with level of fun/power, and of course the reason I considered it in the first place...she has plenty of room!

I was loving the 550 but it was almost 1100 a month, and I figured F#*k it. It was the same with the m3, plus that is out dated which is why I just passed. All in all the 335 is an amazingly fun little go kart/ actually functional sedan, But I cant deny the build quality in 5er and up is much better.

BTW I highly doubt this car can be had for under 600(loaded)...Im quite close with my dealer, and they're only making 25$ on the car. Maybe if you went with lower miles but not at 15K.

That's a very good deal considering the mileage allowance, nice job

Thank you, although I must say there was no negotiating on this one...when they can can they treat me very well. They also took me out of my x5 5 mo's early. Thats why I never stray LOL

Agreed. I'm tired of people saying "that's a bad deal" when they just look at payment (and then say "don't negotiate on payment" somewhere else )

I'm right around where you are also and I got a great deal. I just rolled everything into the payment including a wheel/tire warranty, PDR warranty, tint, black grills, fess, etc.

The only thing that matters is cap cost and MF when looking at a lease. Residuals matter but aren't negotiable so I don't count those. If the residual sucks, I don't even look at the car (I'm talking to you Audi!)

Yep, the residual should only matter when you are deciding which car to consider. However it should be a major factor in choosing a car.

I actually didn't want to say anything earlier but the second car in the garage is a fully loaded 335 msport, 6mt... I am also close to my dealer, this car was had for under $600 a month... Tax, registration etc, i paid just shy of $2000 and then i gave the dealership another $2000 bringing the total to just under $4000... my monthly payment on the 335 is under $475 a month. Yes i could've gotten away with putting zero down like all the other cars we've gone through from the dealership, but i really had an obsession with seeing it under $500 a month, lol... Someone tried giving me a lecture on MF, Cap Cost and Residuals earlier, which prompted this response from me. Residuals don't matter per say, but you can get it during a softer time, they do fluctuate, so he's partially correct. And yes, i'll post the obligatory pictures, for the naysayers. Sorry, i didn't want to say anything earlier and look like an asshat, so i used the 5'er as an example.

Pics or it didn't happen. Terms? That seems pretty much impossible on a lease unless you got some crazy dealer incentives or traded in a vehicle.

Even If I run a $59k vehicle with a cap cost of $50k, residual of 63% over 36 months and a .00120 which is low for BMW, I get $461 + tax per month with nothing down

Is the eco credit a Government thing or a BMW thing?

Interesting way of looking at it...Milage/price?...I just dont get putting money down, but regardless had you not, your payment would be right around 600.
