You can for sure dyno a car right before and right after a upgrade and get accurate results - I speak from experience that is why racers actually dyno tune their cars ( I do this with my Mustang) - the ecu does not learn hp torque etc - what it does adapt to is things like throttle response and other parameters - this does take some time depending on the driver etc - I noticed the difference right away on my BMS stage one - but rememeber that is piggy back not a flash -As for dyno numbers there are just that numbers - either performance at the track or butt dyno is the real result you are looking for
