Yes indeed. Good old Apple leaving it to the general public to do their User Acceptance Testing.

I'll be holding off....

I remember when I got a major update as soon as it come out a year or two ago and found a bug within 5 mins of using it.

Makes you wonder how well these updates are tested. After all, they are all running on the SAME hardware FFS! (Unlike say Windows which has to run on multi vendor hardware).

Also just missed a call from this number, looks like a mobile but there?s one too many digits and a + at the start! Tried calling it but didn?t work. Not sure if this is an ios11 problem, but I?ve never seen it before!

Yes, quite a few apps no longer work, something to do with them not being able to work in 64bit or something....

Yes look like that’s the reason!

Also just noticed when I delete an email from the notification that pops up, it doesn’t actually delete it from the inbox, or even mark it as read!

I’m finding IOS 11 to be an utter bag of wank on the iPad Mini 3. Never had this kind of problem with an IOS or OSX major upgrade until now. I’m off to downgrade to 10.3.3 now before Apple pull the signed IPSW files.

Working fine for me on a range of Apple products, and also get the pictures of contacts now on my TT, it is pretty cool especially when you forget what members of your immediate family look like.

Shit that is poor!

Apple really seems to be going downhill, first they take the piss charging £1k for the iphone X, which should really be the iphone 8 at the iphone 8 price, and shouldn’t have that silly notch out of the screen, then they release an extremely buggy update that appears to have not been tested at all!

I’m really considering a change to Samsung next time, just don’t know how well it will integrate with my ipad and icloud calendar.

Move your iCloud photos, calendars and contacts to Google. Works for me across iMac, iPad and Android phone devices.

IPad Mini back on IOS 10.3 now and all is well again.

I am finding that if I turn off WiFi from my control centre lock screen, it decides to turn itself back on for some unknown reason?

That and when using WhatsApp the messages and writing bar are all over the shop sometimes.

Usual new iOS testing by consumers, rather than releasing a finished version.

Ooh so you even have a mac but yet have an Android phone! Can I ask what reasons made you go for an Android phone instead of iphone?

The other thing I need to do is send photos from my phone to ipad when I don’t necessarily have wifi or 3/4G, is that possible from android to ipad, as I guess you can’t use airdrop?

I don't need anything too sophisticated phone-wise and much as I like the iPhone I can't justify spending half a grand on one. I'm on my 3rd Moto G now and for less than £150 it does everything I need.

A quick trawl of t'interweb turned up this: http://techpp.com/2014/01/10/share-f...roid-ios-apps/

Somewhat old now but with a local wifi hotspot created between the iPad and Android phone a file transfer app would allow photos to be transferred directly between the two devices.

My Canon DSLR has a wifi hotspot that lets me download photos to my iPad using the Canon Connect app on the iPad.

A clunky alternative would be the Apple Camera Connect kit on the iPad and an OTG adapter on the Android phone to exchange photos via a USB flash drive.

I see, i think an android phone would be a bit of a compromise for me.

That?s a feature iirc? It turns off the current Wi-fi connection then re-connects the next time it finds a new Wi-fi source?

Yeah control centre doesn’t actually switch off WiFi or Bluetooth anymore. If you want it fully off you need to do it in settings.

What a load of crap and a stupid feature.

If I want it off, then that’s why I turned it off, not so it could do its own thing and turn itself back on again.

Which dumbass yank designed that?

? I like the feature. If on a slow wifi or phone trying to connect to an open one whilst out & about & 4G is quicker then 1 quick flick & sorted.
