NJ has some of the cheapest gas...for now. The NJ Corruption department...excuse me...Legislators are throwing around the idea of either charging 7% state tax (in NJ, gas is only subject to gasoline tax, not state tax) or hiking the gas tax an additional $.20 to $.30 a gallon. They claim the money is going to go to fix the shitty pothole ridden streets we have to navigate on. Yeah...heard that one before.

I guess the other good thing about NJ gas stations is that you can sit in your toasty warm car while the station attendant is filling your car in the cold of winter. That's right, in NJ you can't pump your own gas.

As if we are not taxed enough already. Where is the property, state and sales tax we are currently paying going. Passed through Ohio and they have better public restrooms along I-80 than we have along I-95.

But you are right the cheap prices and the luxury of not filling up yourself makes it a little better to live in NJ

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2014/...s-are-falling/

This is from Fox News so they may be a bit of propaganda here but there are still some plausible reasons why we have low prices in that article

It seemed pedestrian at the time, but I'll never forget filling up an NSX for $.99 a gallon.

You guys are so funny complaining about taxes. Want to come over to New York? We get ass raped here.

You're right, full service in Jersey rocks - confused me the first time I ever visited, as I'm used to self service.

It seems every time there's a blip on the world radar, gas prices sky rocket. When they eventually go down to 80% of the increase, everyone is happy about how "cheap" it is.

Ex. Price is $3.03 and some world event happens, gas shoots up to $3.67 over the course of two months. World event is over, and it takes 9 months for gas to fall to $3.30 and everyone is happy it's so cheap. I know inflation takes it's toll over that time period, and I certainly apologize to all those outside of the US where gas prices are significantly higher. It just seems that there's a certain amount of conditioning at play here.

That being said, I'm one of the mindless millions who's also happy gas prices are down.

i filled up for $2.10 premium in NJ....but i was also using my stop and shop points. never the less it was still pretty cheap without the points.

FYI if you shop at stop and shop...i highly suggest getting a rewards card and accumulating points. every $1 is 1 point....every 10 points is .10 cents off PER GALLON at shell.

Garage List
Filled up at Shell last night $3.49 for premium in LA. Granted much lower prices elsewhere in the US, for Los Angeles at a top tear station this is a great price.

Last night I filled up at a Shell gas station, Octane 93 for a little under $20. I had a quarter tank when I got to the station and I used my stop and shop rewards card.

This is getting crazy, I feel like I robbed someone

The last time I paid $20 for that much gas I had 2004 Elantra which used regular gas.

Anybody finds it interesting that the price difference between regular and premium is constantly going up as the price of gas is going down? It's 40 cents here in the Philly area. It used to be 20 cents few years ago.

$1.60 for 87 in MI, means 93 should be $1.99-2.05

We can't get 93 in Arizona... Don't get me started.

I paid $2.01/ Gal for 91 yesterday, down $0.12 from last week, Happy Days!

Switching from a 15MPG Jeep to 28MPG 328i combined with Fuel prices in free fall I'm saving over $400 per month on fuel right now.

Why?? Is that a legal thing or something?
